Thats fair. Id love to keep winning. But I also feel like if we lose and the defense gives up another 35-40+ points, I'll take solace in knowing Chris Ash is closer to being shown the door.
At the end of the day these are stats based off of 3 or 4 games though. We don't have a problem if we start playing defense more commensurate with our talent.
I'm happy we play some offenses with a pulse over the next month. I'd like to know if the defense is actually improving and we can't know that playing shit offenses.
I find the comment "great things take time" to be the most intriguing. I've been wondering for awhile if the Ash hire was more about some particular aspect of his defensive philosophy that Freeman thought was missing to match up with the the ultra talented offenses. Maybe it was always meant...
And despite all of the above, we are literally 2 plays away from being undefeated and top 2 in the country. That makes it even more infuriating actually.
Our defense is not good but I have a feeling TAMU and Miami are actually good this year. It might be cope, but I still feel good about the team overall with the elite offensive production.
Pure RB, I agree. Love is still the best offensive weapon on the team, but more of a hybrid player. Get him into space with the ball and get out of the way.
The offense is legitimately one of the best in the country even with average OL play. The defense is loaded with talent but playing like a MAC unit. Its really hard to see how Chris Ash still has all of his responsibilities moving forward.
