Can’t remember where I read it, but it was saying that pOSU needed like 35 million in NIL for a championship level team this past year and prices have gone up significantly and that number is at least 45 million this year.
From some of the comments in a Twitter post, evidently there is a new rule passed last year that says college players can bet on professional games but still can't bet on college sports. If true, this is basically a nothing burger.
I think it has more to do with that and also relatedly, keeping agents from knowing so that they don't spend a lot of time hounding our players that could see diminished playing time because of a portal addition.
It definitely does count based on the rules, unless you can get the NCAA to issue a waiver. It has happened before (for guys that played more than 4 games), but generally the odds are stacked against him.
