and not only as it pertains to getting after the QB b/c the Armstrong kid can run w/ the best of the QBs ND has faced. ND is lucky they have faced primarily one-dimensional teams in their eight wins. Seems like first half of schedule’s opponents struggled on offense & the second half struggles...

FWIW from Matt Fortuna: No word yet on Brennan Armstrong’s status for Saturday, but take this FWIW: Virginia just sent an email ahead of awards season touting his stats, adding: “With upcoming games against Notre Dame (7:30 p.m. ET Saturday on ABC), at Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech, keep an eye...

Tired of them as an opponent. It’s a lose/lose every year. ND should offer a compromise w/ the reason being that the ACC contractual agreement is too cumbersome to ensure Navy is included. If they have to play, insist that it be the opener every season. If Navy can’t make that happen, then...

According to the guys on the SBT pod “Pod of Gold”, Armstrong should be good to go next Saturday. He did not have any broken ribs so he’ll wear a flak jacket to protect them but I suspect it bye week gives him just enough time to be a full go.

I’m biased but I also watch a ton of CFB on tv. Tirico & Brees are easily my favorite tandem. I couldn’t say that on any tandem ND had before.

ABC just announced this game w/ be the prime time game (7:30 EST). Ugh.

The way he went down despite no contact and then grabbed his knee looked like text book ACL tear. Kid is one of my favorites. Hope it’s just a bad strain.

Must be a huge drop off from their starting QB to backup. Their offense is worse than anemic. At least Thomas Booker can leave for the NFL w/ a Stanford degree b/c his football team sucks.

Hoping Freeman leans on Elston. I know Freeman has experience successfully stopping Navy while he was DC at Cincy but he doesn’t have the same personnel. I’m guessing his LB were more athletic & quicker than Bertrand & White and that his secondary at Cincy didn’t learn how to tackle from a Deion...

I doubt it’s Gronkowski-level serious w/ broken ribs & punctured lung. My money is on “bruised ribs” or whatever the diagnosis is that is just short of broken ribs.

I was actually at that game and shared the same disgust as you when Clausen opened the 2nd half w/ the pick six. Had a great time at Chapel Hill until that second half. Still the only game I’ve been to live where ND lost. Took everything I could do to not get in a fight when leaving the game in...

On the flip side, look at his rush attempts his first two years vs this season. He’s got over 400 rushing yds after accounting for sacks and almost the same amount of carries as their first team RB. Dude is now a legit run threat.

Yeah he’s delusional. Now that quote may have rang true for the 2019 game but definitely not this past Saturday.

That was first thing I thought of. They were jail-sexing ND and Sark called off the dogs. And everyone knew it.

Agreed. While the beat writers acknowledge that SCum is talented enough to beat ND, they go back to how broken they are, etc. Then there’s the stat about how the defenses for the next six games give up more YPP than the first six. What they don’t take into account is that all these teams likely...

That’s a huge IF. I’d wager 50/50 is best case scenario they win all six remaining games. Granted, in some of those games ND will have a 80-90% odds of winning but all six is a tough ask w/ the current state of the team.

This^. If not, his backup should be healthy and he’s been impressive as well. ND (like most teams) struggles w/ QBs who can run. They proved that again last week when Burmeister completed seemingly every 3rd & long when he wasn’t running free.

They were probably saying the same thing about ND in the during the Willingham/Weis run.
