B1G should have canceled their 9th conference games this year and played a bunch of nobodies the week before rivalry week, so more of their teams could be 10-2 and try to get into this thing. Really hoping the 9th conf game in the SEC starts to help this issue.

Once again proving - Miami fans, ND isn't the enemy. It's the absolute hoodwinking of CFB at large by the SEC, in all phases. Rankings, media, officiating, scheduling. All of it.

But this explains why that doesn't make sense. If that was their end goal, they had great reasoning to slot Miami up this week, and didn't take it. And now if they move Miami up, they'll be forced to explain why their assessments of the two teams will have materially changed when both were idle...

SEC having an 8 game conference schedule also caused a lot of this. Half the 11-1/10-2 teams in that conference would have an additional loss with the 9th conference game.

This is actually one scenario I also don't love, because Bama would move up and BYU would likely move down, and then we'd be slotted next to Miami. Unless the committee just says, BYU lost but we already knew they weren't as good as TTU, so their ranking already reflects that? Who tf knows with...

The logic is - they want Bama in the field, and swapping them with ND gives them buffer if Bama loses and BYU wins, Bama isn’t on the chopping block. I really think it’s just a conspiracy to protect Bama and nothing else.

Yeah the only team dinged was SMU because they lost to an unranked opponent - Penn St and Texas both lost to top 5 teams and didn’t move relative to ND. That should also be the outcome for BYU and Bama if they lose.

Also, the more controversy there possibly is, the better the ratings for this dumb ass selection show. Never forget that when reading their comments.
