Gerad Parker - Troy Head Coach :)

    I think it’s actually pronounced “W a r D a d d y”

Until your post, I thought all of the references to Brick were...well, references to Brick. Not Jack. I think that's just another changing of the guard moments on IE and why I generally only pop back in on big news cycles anymore. In the glory days, it would have been blasphemy to refer to...

The team will break huddle with the unified chant of "War Daddy"

No, I’ve maintained for a couple of days, across several threads, that something in the initial report about Ludwig seemed fishy and we needed more info or context. But your mantra for several hours, across several threads has been, “Admin bad, Freeman good. Admin wrong, Freeman right. Admin to...

We get it. Admin bad, Freeman good. Admin wrong, Freeman right. Admin to blame, Freeman blameless. It’s starting to sound like the repeat record of giddyup taking about Watt.

I will say, it basically worked out for Urban Meyer at Florida. And Dabo.

I don’t know. Yeah, the timing sucked. But c’mon, Lax, you know the situation wasn’t entirely “I either hire Ludwig or hire Parker. That’s it. End of story. Period.” That’s a false dichotomy. MF had other options besides “Ludwig or Parker.” Granted, I obviously don’t know all the details...

Gerad Parker - Troy Head Coach :)

That’s a really good point. I think most of feel like ‘23 could be a really special season for the team though. While a playoff appearance/NY6 bowl may help get Parker a head gig, I won’t help but feeling a little disappointed if the team gets close to a Natty and falls short. I won’t be able...

Gerad Parker - Troy Head Coach :)

I guess what bothers me about Parker’s hiring is that from day one, when MF was introduced to the team as their new head coach with that arm swing and walk to embrace the players, was that he seemed different. He was a guy who seemingly got ND, embraced the uniqueness of ND, and the challenges...

It’s a very good point and valid concern. That’s my worry too. People will be awed by the fact that ND is going to average like 34 points a game this year. Then wonder why they couldn’t win the big game, or in ‘24 wonder why the offense is the equivalent of BVG’s defenses.

Yep. Also makes me think the source of this quote is one of his current fellow coaches. Or some current GA at Marshall.

Maybe born in West Virginia. Grew up, raised, and went to college in Kentucky though.

Marcus Freeman named Dick Corbett Head Football Coach

That maybe the administration isn’t running amok with “incompetent cheapskates.” They have more of a track record of not being incompetent cheapskates rather than being incompetent cheapskates.

True. But Burnt Ends was known for his offense and offensive acumen prior to ND MF was a defensive coordinator for a few years. Now he’s a head coach and has let his offense be run by guys with not a distinct amount of time running offenses more than any of us.

Really? This has been up for a couple hours and nobody noticed the new guy quoting himself? My how times have changed on IE.

True. Lea was an Elko disciple, knew that defense, and would be able to maintain and build what Elko started though. Parker is just a dude who has been around a few places, never done anything spectacular, and is buddies with Freeman. I'm with you on holding out hope on the OL hire. If it's...
