It’s actually pretty easy to see what works and what does not work if you take an objective look. We have amble evidence.

Do yourself a favor. Take a look at when American manufacturing has been highest in the past 50 years. When has job creation increased the most? How about GDP?

When have we had periods of lower unemployment? When have we experienced recessions?

Hell, when has the deficit increased the most?

Take a look. I think you will find a pattern.

You really are that dense. I called you out on getting upset when I said white trash, and to you, white trash = hard working folks. You never take that leap for other races, because….well you can fill us in as to why.

This is white trash - The class unconscious type who think that unions are a cancer, who think that if they just keep voting for the GOP that oneeeeeee day when they’re millionaires all those lovely tax breaks will actually benefit them, that think their fat fuck children aren’t good at sports and lost a spot on the school team is actually because they just aren’t good enough is because a trans kid 12 years ago in a different state took their spot, who think the reason they have a shitass job is because of random legal and illegal immigrants are taking all the good jobs away from them.

Ohh, there very much is wealth distribution happening.

It’s just not going in the direction you think it’s going.

Now we’re connecting the dots.

America has never been a purely capitalist nation. Never, not since our government formed in 1789.

Of course there are free market principles, and the scale has at times tilted more heavily towards laissez-faire doctrine (Gilded Age).

But, there has always been state interference, public funding, and economic regulation since our founding. And there ALWAYS will be.

So, do we prefer this designed intervention to further tip the scales in favor of the very few who’ve acquired vast fortunes (happy for them, they should live their life of luxuries within reason) and massive corporations that are only accumulating more influence and power; or do we prefer this intervention to be designed towards everyday hardworking Americans who can use some help buying a home, raising a family, living the American dream?

How this is not an easy and simple answer is so far fucking beyond me.
