We can't just let 12 teams cook for a few years huh

16 teams seems like plenty.

I like that the best. Get rid of byes and be on campus the first two games.

I’d prefer 16 too. If they go to 24 and get rid of conference championship games, at least we’ll get rid of the “can’t leave X team out just because they lost the title game” nonsense.

Need to say bye-bye to byes. Why does byes strike me as a stupid, biased idea? Anyone else think the same?

Best case scenario for 24 teams:
Week 1 (Dec 5) replaces Conf Champ week with teams 9-24 playing on campus games. At least these games will matter, unlike the current conf championships. This will be ripe for upsets too as that group will be more evenly matched.
Week 2 one week later (Dec 12): week 1 winners against top 8 on the campuses of the top 8
Quarterfinals week 3 (week before Christmas Dec 19): reseed the week 2 winners, play at neutral sites (big bowl game sites)
Semis on New Year's Day: Always Rose Bowl and alternate Sugar/Orange bowls (best for partying and tradition)
Finals Neutral site the next Saturday (Jan 9) since the NFL playoffs don't start until the following week.

One can dream.

Yes. Byes are too OP in football. Needs to be 16.

I think this is solid if they eliminate conference championship games and the first 2 (3 with the play in) rounds are on campus.
13-20 seeds are play in games replacing conference week and 1-6 no byes after that.

It's basically a 12 team playoff without byes and are including another 8 teams.

If you're in the Top 20, you get a little taste. If you're outside the top 20, go get your fuckin' shine box.
