Thomas Porell scores in what I think is his first appearance of the season? I suppose this is as good a time as any.

After 1: 5 goals, 5 assists; been a while since we've seen that! Jacksonville dominated TOP to start but have not been able to handle transition defense at all, and now our 6v6 offense is picking up.

Richardelli fantastic first half. Could have been a different game with all those early Jacksonville shots before we got our offense going

Absolutely! Literally the best goalie in college lacrosse right now! Insane level of play!

Excellent job. Really great effort making quick passes and punishing Jacksonville off-ball lapses. Ricciardelli had an Entemann-esque performance. Let's keep the magic rolling against Hopkins on Long Island, I'll be there to see it!

Yes, Truly was an elite showing. Good to see the offense move the ball like that, and I really liked the depth Corrigan was showing at SSDM. I think they match up well with hopkins and expect to see another impressive performance. Very cool that you'll be there!

Jacksonville is not a bad team, they actually have really good advanced stats and played UNC super close at the start of the year.

When your goalie saves 84% you will literally beat everyone. Defense gives ND the ability to win every game. You get blowouts when you add offense to that with things like the much maligned attack shooting 8-for-18.

Loved having the shiny gold on the jerseys just like the football team- I was talking earlier with a friend of mine connected to the team saying "I couldn't believe that was in the budget!" and he said, "Me neither!" lol

I occasionally watch the lax games when televised on ACC channel or ESPN. Wondered if ND earns TV revenue from those games, and if so, how much? Is it divied up by the conference?

We do, it is a part of the 12-18 mill we earn from our partial membership in the ACC.

How do we match up with Johns Hopkins?
They are capable of playing excellent defense but their offense is inconsistent (at best) and below average (I think around 40th nationally).

As a result, a lot of their games were close during the season.

If we score in double digits we should win.

They are the least talented team left in the field. Offense is incredibly pedestrian so if the defense does its job then ND wins. Anything can happen in the playoffs though.
It is telling that Inside Lacrosse wondered who we would put Lyght on.

From what I have seen from Hopkins:
Slightly above average faceoff and goalie. Slightly above average offense that does move the ball well, but doesn't have elite dodgers. Their best offensive player, Collison does everything well, and is a good shooter, but is very guardable. The have a pretty good defense, with good ssdm's that will most likely be disruptive. ND is favored by 2.5 goals. I expect a relatively low scoring game, with ND obviously coming out on top.

I really struggle to imagine Hopkins being able to score at all….theres definitely a world where our offense sputters a bit too but if you could count on anything to happen it would be them not putting up points.
