This enrages me for two reasons:

1. I do IT work and IT has been affected the least by the recession.
2. Any HS recruit who says they are going to UF for education I'm unable to believe anymore.

Yet they allow kids to go to Universities to study things like "Poetry", "Modern Art", "Theater".......

Might as well call them "Starbucks Barista training courses".


These then turn out to be the same kids Occupying something because they found that employers want people with actual skills...not a " arts and humanities" degree.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with studying poetry, modern art, or theater if that is what you love.

Then don't complain when you can't find work. And don't blame the "system" and demand your loans be repaid.


That's my issue. Sure, go ahead and study that stuff.....but you need to go in knowing that nobody is hiring in those fields.

And you can do thoese things as hobbies.....

Yeah, my wife has a pop culture degree from Bowling Green. I love paying her student loans off. She also has an Amercan Sign Language degree. Uses neither. Makes money being a stenographer for deaf kids(don't need sign language to do it).
Moral of the story? Don't go into fields like these unless you are a woman and can find a man to pay for them.

I never went to college but make about 60k a year in a prop shop. No college needed. But I still have to pay on 2 student loans.

It's a step in the right direction, but Computer Science at UF hasn't been saved yet.
