Bottom line, do you think Ty has what it takes to win a national championship at Notre Dame?

Ty has no chance at all, put it this way, if ty were coaching the USC team he'd probably only win 7, or 8 games. Ty stinks fire the idiot before its to late....

I agree with the last, reasons Ive stated over and over again on this site.

To sum it up he was a half ass coach at Stanford, he should not have been hired at ND, and now he is a half ass coach in different school colors.

How about Hawkins at Boise State? :zthinking

Hawkins would be nice to have, I love the way he runs his offensive scheme.

As much as it pains me and the high hopes I had after watching the offenses he had at Stanford... Simply no.

No chance at all. If he could we'd should have been in the top 5 this season, then next year be in an actual race for number 1. Last year the writing was on the wall.

Not a chance. I don't think he grasps the enormity of what Notre Dame football is and what it means to all of it's fans. If the Notre Dame administration wants to settle for 7-4, 8-3 and an ocassional 9-2, then Ty is your guy. If you want to challnge the Southern Cal's, the Oklahoma's, the FSU's, the Miami's, Notre Dame is going to go after with someone with some drive, some emotion, somoen who really cares about the traditon of Notre Dame football. :banghead2

I agree that Ty is not the guy to win a national title. He's proving to be an average coach and his recruiting has not produced the way I had hoped. I'm very disappointed with Ty and his coaching staff. Enough is enough! :curse:

Ty is not the answer. Now the question is whether or not He is relieved of his duty as head football coach at ND.

No.

Neither Ty nor the players have what it takes to bring home the title. But I do think Willingham is a quality coach. And we have a few good to great players...but why are we so slow? We have had this problem going back to even the end of Holtz's tenure.

We can switch coaches all we want, but until we get better athletes/team speed it won't matter.
