Sometimes Walker looks like an All-American and sometimes he looks like a high school freshman. So, are you sold on him being the feature back for the Irish the next several seasons?

Why or why not? What do you like? Dislike? How do you think he will be considered when he leaves Notre Dame among the all-time backs?

Potential

Potential

Like all Irish fans after the Michigan game I was sold on Walker. The very next game afterward I started to see that he just had a good game and wouldn't be a consistant threat this season.

With that said. I do think he has potential and will be an awesome running back in the future. What I did see even in the Tennesse game and against BC (1st half) is that he does see different things than Ryan Grant. Which makes them compliment eachother so good.

Walker looks for the big run. And Grant's main focus is to just run 'down hill' not a whole lot of slashing.

Walker will break some records if he recieves some blocks. One things I also noticed is blown blocking assignments if not upfront than in the secondary.

I think he can be a very productive back for ND. He'll probably finish up in the top 5 ND backs after 4 years. I don't think he'll be much of an NFL player though. Needs to bulk up some more!

I know Darius Walker and his family well. Darius is a hard worker almost to a fault. He was below 5% body fat at the start of the season. He hired a personal trainer after his senior football season and worked with him into last summer.

Darius has physical gifts you cannot teach, but it is his vision that seperates him from most tailbacks. He will be one of all-time great tailbacks at Notre Dame.

Now if Notre Dame's administration would just have the guts to fire Willingham and hire a new head coach and assistant coaching staff he would play on meaningful teams.

Can't wait to see him next year as the feature back. He is still young, but will leave a mark at ND. Good upperclassmen leadership and coaching will help him over the rough spots.
