I don't know about anyone else, but Notre Dame needs to get some blue chip recruits on the defensive side of the ball. I am not worried about the offensive side, especially with Willingham finally have a majority of his style guys on that side of the ball.

Defense, however, is a different story. Our secondary is suspect outside of a few guys and we really do not have a great LB like we've always had. I really hope we can land a couple solid DLs and LBs to go with already committed Brandon Harrison.

After getting lit up by Purdue, I hope we get some defensive help. Is it just me, or does it seem like we never hit the opposing QB?

ND needs a new Offensive Coordinator. Deidrichs calls are usually awful. He says that player changes in the lineup are on the way, so we'll see if that changes anything...

Girard is a Suburb of McDonald. Ha....ha......ha.....ha..... Just Kidding, obviously. I teach at Howland High School with a McDonald Football Coach Jim Lowers. Plus, Coach Kijowski teaches at Howland Middle School. Small World, huh?
P.S.: I co-host a Notre Dame Footaball Radio Show every Wednesday Night from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on 1240 WBBW in Youngstown, Ohio. Give us a call tomorrow night. I'll get you on and off the air very quickly. The Phone Numbers to 1240 WBBW in Y-Town, Ohio are: (330) 782-1240 or (330) 782-9229 or (330) 783-5428. Also, Morris Goldberg does a weekly Notre Dame Insider Report from South Bend on our show. Its very popular for ND Fans. We get phone calls from all over the country as well.

Irish Mike..
Yes it is a very small world. I listened to your show every chance I had last season. But now I'm at Penn St and am isolated from my world:) I'll try to give ya a call but I'm going to be very busy. Jim Lowers is a good guy, I've know him for a while. He helped coach McDonald girls basketball a little while back. Nice to know there are Irish fans EVERYWHERE! Keep up the good work and talk to ya soon :usa:

ND has many LB recruits interested. Rey Maualuga, Brian Cushing, Derek Nicholson are great LB recruits interested in ND. Brian Cushing seems to be very interested. One DT recruit I'm surprised we haven't offered yet is James McGillicuddy who looks like a stud. He's very interested in ND and he has the grades. I hear boston College is making a big push for him. On the offensive side of the ball i agree we look pretty good at QB, WR, TE, and as long as walker and hoskins are the real deal we'll be fine at RB. The OLine is of concern to me, there is a ton of talented OLine recruits interested in ND Dan Doering being the main one. He's this years most important recruit to land this year in my opinion.....

Some help for D

Some help for D

Hey guys, what's up? I live in Dayton, OH and I am pleased to announce that there are 2 guys heading for South Bend in the Dayton area.

First off we got Brandon Harrison from Chaminade-Julienne. The 5' 10" 200 lb. DB is lighting fast. I saw him play and I was very impressed. He also doubled as a wide receiver and as a running back when the star running back, Javin Ringer, got hurt (Ringer got offensive player of the year in our area). So you can see he could be a multiple threat for ND playing multiple postions or focusing on one. I hear he is officially being recruited as a DB though (they need all the help they can get in that department).

Second is David Burton. Another DB (safety) from Miamisburg High School. He's 6' 2" 180 lbs. and runs a 4.5 40! He could be a key player for the Irish secondary. The Irish aren't exactly known for their height in the secondary and at 6' 2" he'll probably be the tallest guy back there. I haven't seen him play but he sounds like he'll be a great investment.

Here's to a great 2005 season! GO IRISH!

LB recruiting situation doesn't look good now. Rey Maualuga is out scored to low on his SAT, Brian Cushing looked like a lock earlier in the year, but doesn't look like a lock anymore.
Gotta recruit some offensive linemen as well for the future. O line improved big time this year.
Harrison and Bruton look great, Lambert was a good looking recruit from last year, it would be nice to lock up another CB or two.
