Really??? you don't think we would have had a better recruiting class with an 11-1 season and a major BCS bowl? There would have been alot of media coverage on the Irish with an 11-1 season that these kids would have seen.

I'll take an 11-1 season and an *** kicking in a BCS bowl over an 8-5 season with an *** kicking in the Champs Sports bowl any day....

No I meant that 11-1 would have been a reality had we had better QB play. No doubt 11-1 brings in better recruits, but that wasn't my point.

So the staff caused Tee's medical issue that led to him leaving?

It's not just Tee....and "medical issues"...LOL. What? Allergic to mediocrity?

He'll be dawning a PAC 12 jersey before we know it.

Again, this was a pretty unexciting class. Yes, we got some athletes...but very underwhelming. You gotta be a pretty big ND homer to think this class is anything to brag about.

So I guess you did just find out about Tee. The word on the street, and what Kelly said as well, is that Tee has some type of medical issue that caused him to have to leave Notre Dame. My comment was asking how exactly that is the fault of Kelly?

Did you want him to rub his hands together like Mr Myagi and magically fix him?

A solid class with good kids. Got a good qb and some other good kids but I agree we didn't have that "wow" factor. Maybe just me though.

This is the first I've heard of Tee leaving because of a medical issue. Do you know if it is a medical issue related to academics, athletics, or both?

As for the injury, it sucks but it happens and I'd rather wr on the side of caution than send a kid out there and something bad happen. This schedule coming up is rough and we are in sure need of a big win against a big name. Something to grab attention of these kids. We have enough teams this year that have big names do we should beat some of them. We need a wow season to give kids hope not this regular stream of. 6-8 wins.

In today's press conference Kelly stated that he was not able to comment on Tee because of HIPAA, which is deals with health confidentiality. So if he can not speak about it because of HIPAA, then one can only guess Tee left because of health. No other reason to bring that up.

Bob, I have the kool aid smile fr drinking for years too, but really man we have to be realistic. We are going to be worse this year. We lost our two best offensive weapons and almost all of our secondary and the schedule is tougher this year. I hope we can win 10 games and show improvent but I'm seeing anothe 6-7 win season. Could be because I'm drunk and depressed

That is his realism. Just because you don't share in the same opinion doesn't make it any less realistic.

To say we will be worse because you haven't seen the up and coming players play is premature. We knew what guys like Blanton and Gray would give us but we don't know what BJax, Jalen Brown (Floyd raved about him btw), Josh Atkinson, Cam McDaniel, probably K. Russell at some point, Lo Wood (limited action) can do for us.

Then he needs to stop taking crazy pills.

Look, I understand people that want to think we're gonna somehow pull together a 10 win season with unproven players losing our best offensive weapon and both corners, but I just don't see it. And I think that's a resonable assessment.

And with the way we played at QB, and the fact that we're going to be probably be starting a guy with limitied playing experience, I'd say 8 wins is being VERY optimisitic.

I will root for them every SAT and hope they win every game. But I'm done with trying to convince myself that they can win every game with IF'S and BUT'S. When making predictions, I'll shoot low (which is wise these days) and hope they suprise me.

7-8 wins this season. Which is fine with our schedule, new guys, and the fact that we blew it in recruiting(yes, we got a couple guys...but be honest with yourselves, it left a whole lot more to be desired). Kelly just better kick some major a$$ in living rooms this year.

I still think, with a good recruiting class, we have a great season in 2013. I've called that from the beginning.

ROTFLMFAO!!!! I'm not sold on Kelly as of now but I'm not giving up on him just yet. He gets another few years in my eyes and if he's still 8-5 then we have to start all over again.

Along the lines of a kid leaving for health issues of course we are all for him protecting his well being. With that said my earlier slant on the state of college football today does not change-in fact I will be watching tonight when NBC and Costas states its case. Blow the lid off of minor league pro football and let college be college. The SEC and some of the standards set by many schools today is a slap in the face to schools that try to provide a college life experience and prepare kids for something other than football.

After irishlax post about what happened with Shepard, Tom Lemming looks like a total a$$.

I use to like Lemming in the early 2000's, but recruiting game has passed him by and I despise him now.
