Rotoworld- People familiar with Chargers GM A.J. Smith tell the San Diego Union-Tribune that Smith is a "huge fan" of Notre Dame SS Harrison Smith.

San Diego has been trying to shore up strong safety since losing Rodney Harrison in 2003, and Smith could do it, likely at the expense of a second-round pick. The Union-Trib expects the Chargers to avoid safeties in free agency and target them in the draft. San Diego has the 51st overall pick in round two.
