finally started a ND collection

i have 4 kids so i have been wanting to collect something so years down the line they can pass something down generations....not to bad of a start..... (all official) i purchased a michael floyd autograph on 8x10, tony rice w/ lou holtz autographs on 8x10, rocket's auto on sports illustrated and have a stiched tim brown jersey w/ auto and rocket's official jersey from oakland signed...i got to say, today was a good day!

I am slowly starting, I have a lot of the current roster of players but my "big" ones are autographs from Tony Rice, Michael Floyd, and Skylar Diggins.

Right now they are in cheap frames or no frames, but one day I want to really put them together in a nice display.

Once I am able to get to more games I want to get more autographs. I might have to go to the game in Dallas against ASU in 2013. That would be pretty cool, and maybe even get autographs there. (Sorry went off topic)

Something I take pride in, even though I didn't do it, is that my brother tattooed a few of the players on the team. Including Floyd, I believe he did both tats on his arms. He has script on one and praying hands on the other. So even though it's not part of a "collection" its something cool to see on national TV.

Even though if it is a joke (not sure if it is), it actually could be worth a lot if becomes very successful at Kansas or gets a head coaching gig in the NFL.

It would be like owning a Jerome Bettis jersey from the Los Angeles Rams or a Dorsey Levens signed ND jersey.

They didn't make their name with those teams.

i just won them from auctions..so when they arrive i def will...really excited for the rocket, tony rice and lou holtz ones...they are my favs when i starting watching nd back in 89

You've inspired me to start looking for some Notre Dame collectables. To date I only have clothing, hats and a ND garden gnome, none of them signed, or very old.

I'm surfing ebay this morning.

Your thread here would be a good place for others to show off their collections, maybe give some collecting pointers or even do some trading??

2 are mine from a previous marriage and same for her...we are getting married in november of this year, which she allowed me to move the date since it fell on the oklahoma game (u know u have the right one )

funny thing is..i have tons of nd hats and i was increasing my clothing so i wanted to take up another hobby along w/ brewing beer so i thought this would be cool...always wanted to have a "notre dame room" ....but anyways i have a ND gnome too! I started getting a new gnome for a father's day every year for a tradition

Bobd...1 thing to remember when purchasing autographs are there are authentic ones and there are copies of them...u will see a big difference in price

You guys have a lot more stuff than I do. Only thing memorable item I own is an authentic #3 jersey from the mid 90s made by Champion. I keep meaning to get it framed but either forget or get lazy. I really want to buy a couple of authentic helmets (both old and new paint schemes) but never have pulled the trigger as I find the authenticity of the authentic helmets to be sub par.
