Did anybody else get the feeling that Weis, in trying to claim neutrality on Tuck's decision, actually swayed him to stay at ND? He dropped several lines about not having been his coach, but if he was his coach he would be able to hook him up with agents, owners, coaches, etc.

When does Tuck have to announce his decision to enter the draft?

If Tuck was a projected first rounder I'd personelly tell him to go to the NFL. But I think he's more of a 2nd rounder, theres about 6 or defensive ends projected higher then him. Next year he would be a first rounder no doubt. So I think he should stay another year. But if he leaves I can't blame him.

If i were a player i would never go to the NFL - not cause of the money but cause of the style - it isnt fun just looks professional not like college were a guy throws a 30 yard TD pas and runs around the field all exicted.......i think u know what i mean if not i can post more

Yeah, its a tough decision, but damn he's good. I like Tuck and I think he'll make a good alumnus. But maybe its time for him to move along then.

What, then, will next year's starting defensive line likely be?

if tuck stays, it'll be tuck and abiamiri on the ends backed up by frome, with landri and laws in the middle (assuming we run a 4-3). that's pretty impressive.

I believe he has to announce by January 15th. From what I have read he goes if he is projected as a 1st rounder and stays if not.

If Tuck is smart, he would stay another year and play in Minters defense. Minter will blitz MLB's and OLB's to create one on one mathups with his D-Line. This will help Tuck pickup a few more sacks this year and (hopefully) increase his sack totals and his stock in the draft.

Tricky question...and I think a lot of it has to do with Kiwanuka from BC. If he stays (I doubt it), then JT is a first-round pick for sure. If he comes out, then every other DE goes down a notch. Most mock drafts I've seen have Tuck going very late in the first or very early in the second round. I've looked at 7 different drafts, & they're all pretty consistent...except one draft had him going to Detroit at #11 in Round One, and the other had him going to Arizona at #44 in Round Two.

As a fan, I think he should return for one more year & be a guaranteed First-Rounder next year. But if I were JT, it would be hard to turn down all that money.

Either way, we'll know soon enough.

Kiwanuka looks like a stud. Tucks injury may scare some teams off. But like you said its hard to turn all that money down.

Anyone know if Tuck will be getting his degree this year, I know he's a senior with one year of football eligibility left. A degree from Notre Dame is money as well...

There was a pretty good special on SportsCenter about Tuck and his relationship with a boy who passed away from, I believe, Leukemia. He would bring the kid to the Giants facility and he wore a bracelet that the kid gave him during the season and in the superbowl.

The kid requested to be buried wearing Tuck's jersey. Pretty touching story.

I want to win just like everyone else, but it is pretty awesome to hang your hat on the fact that ND produces not only great football players, but great people.
