One of my favorite hobbies these days is looking up old newspaper articles on ND football. I am especially enamored with the ones prior to the 1950s and such. I wanted to start this thread as to help others understand the history of the ND football and it's place in American college athletics. If you find any old articles, please post the links accordingly. Thanks in advance and I'll start it off.

April 1, 1931 - Knute Rockne Dies in Crash of Airliner

*Mods I searched as much as I could to make sure a similar thread was not active on this. Move if needed thank you.

Remember, there are no hazards in good whiskey!

Haha  to that

I just think it's cool to see how much ND was covered coast to coast in these newspapers. Today with the internet everything is covered, it was a completely different time back then. To see first hand that ND football was so pervasive in the national media even back then is just very interesting to me.

BTW did you see the prices of that whiskey - CRAZY
Pint for $.80
Quart for $1.55

April 1, 1933 - Rockne's Tragic Death

This is a multi-page spread of Milwaukee Sentinel in memory of Rockne, following his death in the airplane crash. It is worth looking through all thirty pages because there is tons and tons of material in this edition about Rockne and ND.

*This is probably the my favorite of the all the articles I have found so far. I have about a hundred that I have bookmarked. I will slowly post them as I have time.
