Should we expect a full court press on Leonte Carroo?

Getting Wright or Carroo would likely help us land the other, and even the prospect of getting 3/4 of the Don Bosco posse together should be enough to at least get us serious consideration.

Many kids have been bagged on over the years for their lack of loyalty when they switched commitments. I think it was clear from the start that ND had tons of appeal to Westerkamp, but equally clear that he was conflicted about breaking the commitment he had made to the Cornhuskers. Whatever the reasons for this final decision, I'll be rooting for him because clearly he is a good kid in addition to a good football player. May loyalty win out more often in the future!

I see this thought of a big close but what recruits are we in the lead with. I can not think of one and I have a feeling that Neal will be wearing scarlet and gray. I guess we might be with Yuri (thats a big might). Poole is still strong Fla. Armsteads to me seem to be a Cal lean. Neal Osu and Agholor Usc. I am getting hte idea that we may have our class plus the 5 tears at the moment plus maybe Yuri.

I know this recruiting thing can get emotional, but there is no need to cry.

He seemed to be a high-character kid. I don't think he wanted to go back on his commitment. It really seemed to bother him. He liked Nebraska, felt comfortable there, and saw the opportunity to play early. He knows ND is looking to finish this class strong, and he felt best at NU.

Not really a surprise
I completely agree with you here TT. I don't know why everyone thought he was a lock for ND. I always believed he was to good of a kid to go back on his word from Nebraska, plus he loved it there.

This may not be a shocker, but it is a bit of a surprise. I really thought he was going to be Irish. Really want one more high quality WR in the fold this class.

I'm okay with this. There are plenty of elite guys on the radar and while I think Westerkamp will be a good one, he isn't elite.

Does this mean we are strong with one of the other WRs or does it mean the quality of the class is slipping?

Still hoping for Neal, but this is probably just wishful thinking.

While that may be true, Amir and Jordan don't play the same position, and Amir won't be available until 2013.

I don't think Westerkamp was going to see the field in 2012 either, so that point is a wash. With Greenberry, Brown and Ferguson already in the mix and Daniels ready to contribute next year, losing out on Westerkamp isn't that big of a blow. Jones needs to step up, and hopefully Daniel Smith can pick up some slack with his 6-4 frame. And if Fuller comes in and doesn't pan out at QB and sticks around the program, that's just gravy.

Interesting choice of words. There are a lot of kids on our team that decommitted from other schools. I'm sure you don't mean it, but it sounds like you're saying they're not good kids.

Sounds like a great kid, and one with talent. It would have been great to get him. It is just wierd a top type receiver going to a team that doesn't really throw it that much at all. Their top receiver had 32 catches. That would be 5th on our team, and our fifth had 27 catches. Just weird.

Good football school, but a weird choice for a WR.

Anyhow, good luck Jordan enjoy your college experience. Nebraska Football isn't a bad place to be.

Go Irish!

Would have been a nice add- great kid, lots of character, solid football skills. Fortunately, this wasn't a desperate need. Wish him well, but moving on...

Now...I know that we were looking at Jordan to play the slot, but since we struck out...do you think we make a play at Prater?

Has the staff continued pursuing Westerkamp? Epecially after Kiel arrived on campus.

He reaffirmed to Nebraksa and said that he has respectfully told the ND coaches to back off. At least thats what I heard from a phone interview on the radio the other day with Jordan himself.

Hadn't done much this season...until today. Caught a game winning Hail Mary TD. It was a tipped ball that fell right into his hands, but a game winner nonetheless.
