Pitt hires Paul Chryst (former Wisconsin OC) as new Head Coach

Pittsburgh Panthers to make Wisconsin Badgers Paul Chryst coach - ESPN

Seems like a really good hire. Doesn't seem like he has many connections in the Pittsburgh area, but has done some really great things at Wisconsin. Also, was the OC at Oregon St when Derek Anderson and Steven Jackson were putting up monster numbers.

They said on espn last night that he was second to Gramham last year. So atleast ways they new alot baout him.

seems like an ok hire...admittedly my radar never had him on the scope because anyone that doesn't have very strong PA ties...well I figured no way they take this job.

Nice work Pitt! I hope this guy is the one.

I do worry about recruiting in the state of PA, and on the eastern seaboard...but I don't know enough about this guy's history to say he can't do it...guess we'll see.

For now, again, given all that has happened to them, this was a surprisingly good sales job by Pitt.
