Starting QB for BC game..

Trust me; I'm not looking past mighty Maryland but I woke up this morning thinking...Will Kelly give Crist the start on Senior Day? I think that he should; the guy deserves it and has plenty of talent to beat BC. He helped ND beat them last year so why not let the guy have one last time to shine in Notre Dame Stadium?

Ummmm. NO! Tommy Rees should be starting and will. He's ugly, but he still wins.

Crist always looks just TERRIFIED out there. Next time he's out there just look at his eyes and you just can see shear terror in his eyes. He's just so lost.

I totally agree; he does not have that edge needed to win at ND. I thought he was a new man during the USC game but...

Last thing we need is a QB controversy for the Stanford game. Dayne will hopefully be put in early in the BC game.

I'm all for this discussion but can we wait until tomorrow morning to discuss this. For all we know, we might have a much better picture on it anyways depending on what happens tonight.

This Maryland game worries me a little because i think they are going to play really well and we are banged up.

I see tonight as a defining moment in the state of the ND program. Win this game and Champs sports bowl is likely locked up and improvement from last year likely will take place record-wise and visibly. ND teams over the past few years always lost games like tonight's so i'm curious to see how this year's team will do.

Nicely said. I agree. This is a dangerous game. They kinda remind me of the 2-7 Syracuse team that beat us. Oh god, could you imagine if we lose tonight? This board would be on MELTDOWN!

In any other sport Dayne Crist would 100% get the start. Basketball, hockey, lacrosse, etc. if you are playing an inferior opponent you give your seniors the first shift and then go from there. I think this is a really good question to ask, and hopefully we can discuss it more AFTER A thorough beating of Maryland tonight.

Problem is..... using 15 other threads, we have already, hailed Crist as the starter, fired him, Loved and hated on Rees, in our minds replaced him with Hendrix, who we will sack for Gholson if we fall behind in a game, and really, we don't need any of these wannabe's, once we get Kiel for one year, so we can bench him for Alviti.......so as you can see, we've already got a plan. : )

No way should we be overlooking ANY opponent, especially one with only 2 wins this late in the season (as NDOM properly stated, see: Syracuse, 2008). This thread has some bad omens man...really bad omens.

(My take...no, you don't start him. I personally think that's ridiculous, because the QB is the heartbeat of the team and you can't mess with that flow, you can't even allow a QB controversy to begin to take place, and Dayne Crist still has another year of eligibility anyway.)

After we beat Maryland tonight, this thread will be opened back up. Anyone have a major problem with this decision, shoot me a PM. Go Irish!
