So in other words from here its a crapshoot of where Kelly goes? Because you have Weis and Brennan at 17-4(granted I do not know much about Brennan) and then you have Holtz at the same record

Terry Brennan was a much better coach than he was ever given credit for. He just came at a time when Notre Dame decided to cut scholarships in half and raise academic standards for athletes. Five seasons: Three in final top 10, one in final top 20, one horrible 2-8 year thanks to a ton of injuries.

Right now, to me, this team is passing the eyeball test.
They are very much improved over the Weis teams.
Offensively and defensively.
Yes, they gave a couple games away, but over all I'm very happy with the progress.
I feel that as early as next season we could be BCS bound regardless of the "tough" 2012 schedule.

Regardless of record I think this team would beat any of Weis's teams. 05 would be close and might win.

I agree. Our inside LB's need to work on their coverage skills, even Teo. And, our edges have to get a lot faster. Once Shembo, and Ishaq figure out whats going on, that problem will be solved.

2012 may have some ups and downs, but 2013, especially if this incoming class holds together, could be reallllllllllly special.

We are still probably 7-8 players away from being elite.

TJ Jones, and George Attkinson are going to leave their marks on ND football. They play so hard, and have the toughness that a lot of our players don't have.

given the era some of the top coaches i'd say BKs on track, given how the younger guys are playing and the next few recruiting classes id say ND is in good hands
