So my roommates computer has a few viruses. His GF snuck in our place and used him computer to watch porn while we were out watching cards. Yes I'm serious, yes she's a moron ( as seen in this thread http://www.irishenvy.com/forums/leprechaun-lounge/58715-well-awkward.html) and yes I'm definitely changing the locks.

Anyhow does this program just scan for viruses or does it delete them too? Just wondering cause he's cheap and he needs the cheapest option available cause well he's cheap.

Thanks for any and all replies helping my cheapskate roommate

Edit: This is the explanation I was given by my roommate.

That should work. One of the best antivirus programs, which is also free, is avast antivirus. The most important product he should be looking for though is a pimp-hand strengthener.

I used spybot search and destroy a few years ago when i had a pc.. it was free and worked.

It's a little strange that his GF is sneaking in while you guys are out to watch porn on his computer.. Strange or awesome, I can't quite decide yet..

I think it was him. But he's knows I have a strong dislike for her so I won't call him out on it. Plus it gives me an excuse to change the locks

I use these, and have never had a problem. They're all free. And yes, I'm a cheap ba$tard.

NDFan4Life & ndfi78 are close but here is what I would do...

Since I'm in IT work...here is what you want to use:

SUPERAntiSpyware.com | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware! It's free and it's the best out there.

Secondly run Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download

It's critical that you run these programs in safe mode, try to use safe mode with networking. To get into safe mode hit the F8 key a couple of times when the computer boots.

Once both those programs come up clean install Microsoft security essentials as others have mentioned. It's free and is a top 5 anti virus program.
Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection | Microsoft Security Essentials

*Please note this should remove the virus/malware, but there is a chance that not everything will be cleaned.

*Come to think of it after you have used the programs above download ccleaner from FileHippo.com - Download Free Software and run the registry cleaner, which will clear out any unnecessary registry entries that could have been put in by the virus.

*Please send me a PM if you have any issues.

Thanks for the info.

I'm pretty anal as far as my computer is concerned. I don't like anyone getting on it when I'm not around.
