What I hope to see against scUM

Few things I hope to see next saturday:

1. Kelly beating the mistakes out of the team. (We all know what they are)
2. Rees Starting.
3. Brindza Punting and Goodman receiving punts.
4. Nix starting. Big fella is pretty damn quick and cant be moved.
5. Wheres Shembo been?
6. Toma in the slot most of the game.
7. Throw to Floyd a lot more.
8. Seeing Lynch get more snaps.
9. Dan Fox NOT starting.
10. More blitz packages. Need to contain Denard.
11. Intensity from getting off the bus to getting back on the bus.
12. Focus, focus, and focus.
13. Showing what ND is this year and they are for real.

Yes, that game was horrible and we deserved to lose. But only lost by 3.

My mind still isn't made up on if i want Dayne or Tommy to start. I don't think Dayne played bad enough to be benched and I would give him another chance, but I totally understand why Kelly put Tommy in.

Kelly has already said that Riddick to continue to return punts. And he will continue to play slot. He had a bad game and will be ready and focused to make a difference next week.

And I agree we need to get floyd the ball, but only if he is open. We have playmakers at TE and WR that can also make big time plays (even though they didn't show it yesterday). There is no reason to force it to Floyd every pass.

Tommy distributed the football pretty well yesterday. He completed 24 passes, 10 of them to Floyd. He completed 5 each to Eifert and Jones (Jones should've had 6 from Tommy). Riddick would have had 4 catches if it weren't for drops.

I never said he didn't distribute it well. I know he did and he made some very good throws. But the op said "pass it to floyd alot more" and i responded to that above.

I'd like to see us establish the run game early and pound the rock a little more. Obviously Saturday we were playing catch up hence the play selection so it isnt a criticism, but lets get control of the LOS, control of the clock and keep the scUM crowd out of the game. It goes without saying we need to get Floyd plenty of touches but I would like to see a balanced attack and a little more of Cierre Wood - I believe thats the key to winning this game.

I want more from the defense. There was talk this could be a Top 10 defense, not at all. LSU's defense is Top 10. I want to see players flying around making plays. The players still seem slow to read and react out there. How about some turnovers. The defense did nothing to pick the offense up off the ground. A great defense would create turnovers to help out the offense.

I really don't know what game you were watching. We held a pretty talented offense to 254 yards. That isnt pretty good, that's damn good. We didnt force turnovers because USF couldnt throw the ball downfield, they played near the LOS all game. Defense didnt pick up the offense? How about the muffed punt that gave USF the ball at the 20, and they gained a whole 1 yard. How about the defense holding USF to 2-14 on third down. How is that not picking up the offense? What else would you want them to do? This isnt a video game, they arent going to get multiple turnovers every game. Offensively, USF held on to the ball, and that is about all they did well. And oh ya, they have a good kicker.

Absolutely. Ever since Weis was here we've been taking offense when we could. I'd like the D to go out there and set the tone considering they're our best unit right now. If the offense sees the D control UM, it can take some pressure off of them.

I think the talent is there. According to Rivals:

LSU starting defense: 5*:2 4*: 7 3*:2

ND starting defense: 5*:1 4*:10 3*:0

I think it looks pretty even as far as the talent on the field.
