and Hughes get in the endzone. Kyle caught a 5 yd TD pass, Mando caught a 20 TD pass out of the backfield and Hughes had 2 scores.

with four backs (forte, bell, barber & taylor) on the roster, where is hughes going to fit? unless they go with fullback depth. which is my hope, but if he's trying to play running back....then he'll be lucky to land a practice squad gig with the bears.

trust me, i love hughes, but my hope is that he'll be a fullback.

It sounds like Taylor is probably gone but I have no idea if Sam Hurd is in the team's plans.

More to the point, it sounds like Hughes only got in the game because Bell left with a minor injury (and Hurd wasn't there for family reasons, and Forte isn't going to play in the last preseason game).

Yeah, this is what I'm hoping for (not the Colts in particular). With the Bears he could never take on more than a very limited role.

yeah, he does look like he's put on more muscle. he was already solid to begin with. i hope the bears can find room for him....maybe a ST player or something.

the guy was barely able to crack ND's rotation... I wouldn't call Bears cutting him dumb... I do think they will sign him to practice squad

He didn't play in the first 3 preseason games, and in typical Hughes fashion, had 12 of his 16 carries go for 3 yards or less. Against the worst defenders the Browns have to offer.

Hughes, and we as fans, should be elated with a practice squad contract.

The Bears have waived 14 players today - including the one true fullback in camp (Eddie Williams). According to Rotoworld, they have to make 12 more cuts.

It's looking good for Hughes to get a practice squad invite at least.

I think your better chance is Allen.... The kid can do a lot and TB showed last year that they will take a risk on undrafted free agent (Blount)

Oh, I agree. With good health he has a nice chance at putting together a solid NFL career.

It's just that I'm a Bears fan so I'm taking double interest in Hughes.

Kerry Neal, Kyle Mccarthy, and Eric Olsen were all cut from what I can see...look's like Hughes and Brian Smith made it though. Biggest surprise here is Kyle Mccarthy he was running with the 1's at some points during training camp this year.

Don't want to start a new thread on it, but Sergio Brown may be starting for the Pats this year. They cut Merriweather and James Sanders and Sergio seems like he could be in line for a starting spot.
