So...all I have to say is that I certainly do hope that the team is buying into a dominating season. Confidence and a sense of purpose and destiny can go a long way towards motivating a sports team.

However, articles such as the one mentioned in this thread are the epitome of why most of the college football world thinks that all Notre Dame fans are drunken delusional dreamers with no senese of reality.

I'm confident that this team is BCS bound come early 2012. 10-2. They certainly could run the table if things fall into place sure...
I don't have to convince the majority of you folks of the likelihood of that happening though.

Bring on the season!

If Notre Dame can earn ridiculous expectations from us then we'll have em. That hasn't happened yet. If BK and Co. Win an NC this season sure we can expect two in a row and anoint Kelly the second coming of Rockne.
I'd like that just as much as the rest of you. But reality has it's way of keeping those types of things in check.

Go Irish.

P.s. IrishTrinity...just ignore any hate people throw at you, and don't take it to heart.
also...most of the hate really is directed at Bleacher Report.

Irishtrinity - I feel like one of these days, you are going to have an epic meltdown on here. You certainly wear your heart on your sleeve.

At least that heart is colored blue and gold and pumps green kool-aid at 180 beats a minute. Good onya.

I know I am late to the party but I applaud irishtrinity's optimism. I actually think just like him, rain or shine I am behind ND. Like I mentioned in another thread I bet that ND would have an 8-9 win season in 2007 and we all see how that season turned out. I am a realist with an optimistic point of view. If that makes any sense.

Absolutely nothing wrong with having high expectations, even when things are at the lowest point.

i know man i really feel like we had the talent some yrs we just had bad breaks.. 2010 golden and floyd and then floyd broke collar bone, we had a great team just lost to many close games..

The original responders did restrict their comments to bleacherreports and internet fodder. You responded to kpenn's post(joke) about BR, the source of the article. Neither kpenn nor Whiskeyjack said a word about you.

He did just link an article and also put in the reality checks such as Floyd and injuries. So disagree if you want, but disagree more with the article. Irishtrinity is just the messenger posting something for us to read. And as Steven Tyler said, "Fake it until you make it." And as Steven Pressfield wrote, "The three dumbest guys I can think of: Charles Lindbergh, Steve Jobs, Winston Churchill. Why? Because any smart person who understood how impossibly arduous were the tasks they had to set themselves would have pulled the plug before he even began." Personally, I hope every member of the ND football team is buying 100% into an undefeated championship run.

thank you.. both you guys hit the nail on the head..
