I am a big Spond guy. I always thought he and Collinsworth were that 2010 class' most underestimated recruits. Both of them are ballers. On the other hand, I was not overly-excited about either Jackson and Shembo. I had no idea that Jackson was so tough- I thought he would have a hard transition to high DI. As far as Shembo goes, it now seems obvious that he is a great fit for a 3-4, though I was looking at him as a shorter tweener in the 4-3. I had no sense that he would be such a force in the backfield.

I guess there is a good argument that Rees was actually the biggest surprise.

From last year's class, I think Hounshell, Brown, and Rabassa are the most under-appreciated. McDaniel and Josh A. get the most divergence in terms of their potential. Hanratty, followed distantly by Carricio and Springmann, is the player with the least expectations. Farley is the true wildcard. Grace is the guy that won't suprise people no matter what he does.

This year, I think the we are getting more than we think with the two recent safties. Everyone else seems about where they should be for this time of year.

Agreed on all accounts.

I interpreted it this way: Grace currently has the perfect combination of hype and anonymity; so regardless of whether he succeeds or fails, most of us will say, "Saw that coming."

Dog linebackers haven't proven sh*t.

And Arnold is a Kelly fanboy.

Huh...

I didn't see anything there that was terribly 'fanboyish.'

He was just saying that potential is there and expectations are sky high.

Rocket89 was simply lampooning the troglodytes over at NDNation.
