dont get me wrong, the officials didnt lose the game for LAkers, but my point is that playoff officiating has dramatically changed since the 80's-90's.
prime example of a hard playoff foul that would never exist today:

not even a technical called on this play. McHale was not suspended and played in the next game. As Tommy Heinsohn says "its a strategy by teams in the NBA to not give up layups, make them shoot the free throws...."
