I see that they announced that the 2nd annual Kelly Cares Foundation Football 101 is scheduled for June 14th. I saw that they doubled the amount of women who could attend, but they are not using the stadium for any of the events like they did last year. Any idea why this is?

Football 101 returns to Notre Dame - wsbt.com

I love the cause. But can't help thinking the women who will sign up for this, are only doing so to get a foofoo pink souvenir jersey, and impress their male counterparts. The picture alone of the chick trying to lob the ball is enough to make ME want to vomit. In order to impress me, you've got to know more than just where the end zones are and what color jerseys ND is wearing. I am a girly girl to the fullest extent, but a total man when it comes to my football. Shut up and bring me a beer, honey!

I agree. As a girl who can actually catch a football and wouldn't be caught dead wearing an all-pink jersey, I am feeling queasy after watching that video.

I think this is a great cause for Kelly to make money for his foundation. It didn't seem like he was very involved last year. It was more of his wife's thing.

It is absolutely a great cause. I don't mind the pink for breast cancer, either. But a real, ND-colored jersey with a pink patch would make this event a little less silly.

p.s. IRISH GL love the avatar pic. I had the pic from the actual game as my background for a while.

I do applaud Paqui and Brian Kelly for stepping up to raise money for this event, I do applaud the cause. I just shake my head because I live here. I know what kind of antics will ensue. :p

Stand tall, sing loud. Stay proud, play ball!

Great cause, great fund raising event ... but the ladies aren't the only ones who could benefit from a 100 level course on playing and dissecting the game.

As a skinny-*** male of short stature I never made it past backyard and schoolyard football. I was always deemed too small to play organized ball (much to my mother's delight) and therefore know less than I'd like when trying to interact on this board.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

I could use a few classes.
