I'll stand by this... keep the core uni as it is and wear it over 50% of the time... the other 4-5 games a year rotate all kinds of alternate unis... anything and everything on the table...

This was great stuff and I'm with pretty much all the consensus but NOT painting the field. Its Notre Dame when I see the stripes in the end zone and no mid field logo. Sometimes less is better. I'm really surprised that fans dont want the old gold back like Ara's teams or Lou's teams. The gold today ( Vegas ) is not any different that any other team. In fact a few teams have a better look ( Fla State ) like our old gold but without all the crap they put on the helmet to jazz it up. I would like to see ( if people agree ) a real push for the deeper old gold/bronze gold look of the past. This new color looks watered down and too much like Navy ( who by the way have beaten our @##$# the last few years ). The pants can certainly be made to match the helmet no matter what hue of gold is agreed upon. Just be different than Navy. People talk about how the old dark ink/blue jerseys looked great- one of the reasons was because the helmets actually gleamed and almost looked electric by contrast. We have time now to comment on this as its our silly season before we get wrapped up in the team/performance etc. but honestly I think Notre Dame is missing its heritage with this present vegas gold.

I agree, the current vegas gold is very watered down. That's a great way to put it. But, Holtz was the one who made the switch from old gold to the current metallic vegas gold.

Otherwise I absolutely concur. At the minimum I would like to see the Irish try the old gold look for one game in a throwback type of opportunity.

As stated in the article, not the bright yellow pants from the late 70's like we wore in 2007, but the old gold from Paresghian's era.
