ND's Molnar praises PA football - Sports - Citizens Voice

"I wasn't at Notre Dame 15 or 20 years ago, but there is not a high school in American that I have stepped foot in with the ND on my shirt that I have not been well received by the principal, head football coach or student athlete," Molnar said. "I think everyone is excited to be recruited by Notre Dame. There is a multitude of reasons that Notre Dame has not been in the upper echelon of college football in the last decade. The ability to recruit is not one of them."

PA has great talent. As a former "Coal Region" athlete I have to say NEPA is very underrated due to the hard nosed style that is played there. The flashiness isn't there, but the players are hard nosed, disciplined, and well coached. They are certainly players that can fit the mold for coach Kelly.

There's quite a few people from NEPA, it's an Irish Catholic hotbed, so it makes sense. There are a few people from Scranton proper, and I've seen other from somewhere in PA.

I was actually part of the last class of Cardinal Brennan ('07), and my senior year we dropped the football program, so I had to play in the co-op with Shenandoah that year. Won districts.

Crazy. I'm an '04 grad of Reading Central Catholic. That school is closing this year to merge with Reading Holy Name to form Berks Catholic.

I saw it was. I'll tell you the Allentown Diocese is something else. Churches closing left and right, schools too.
