Wow. Surprised by UCONN. I thought Syracuse was better than that.

Sigh.... 0-4... time to get back on the horse or give it up? Had a solid 11 for 14 (79%) run before yesterday evening's all-around epic fail. Now only 11 for 18 (61%).

Florida -155 over Vanderbilt
Louisville -1.5 over UConn
SDSU -2 over BYU

That's all for now. 9 out of 10 confidence on these three. I also like: Alabama +7 over Kentucky at something like a 4 out of 10 confidence... so going to leave it alone for now and see how the line moves.

Yeah alright also add Michigan +11 over Ohio State and Alabama +7 over Kentucky to that list. Just looking at past history Michigan played OSU twice this year and each time finished within 10. Alabama isn't a great team but +7 is very juicy. I'll leave it at those 5 for now.

Injuries and fouls for Alabama... still hanging in there though.

Well that was abysmal. For a stingy defensive team Alabama has not been very stingy.

Now a solid 0-5..... can Michigan keep it close? Just gave up a 9-0 run.

Make it 0-6. Refs handed OSU a little run to blow the game open when it was only a 2 point margin and then Michigan imploded like you would expect. Sigh.

3-2 today... not too bad but could've been better... brings it to an even 6-6. UConn responsible for 3 of those 6 misses. Sheesh.

Three early picks for tomorrow:

Ohio State -9.5 over Penn State
Florida EVEN over Kentucky
Richmond MONEYLINE over Dayton. Bet the freaking house on this... Richmond is a much much MUCH better team than Dayton and playing incredible basketball as of late. They have won 10 of 11 with their only loss being @ ranked Temple. I actually get to see them on TV being in Virginia and they are simply a very talented team (hell, they beat Purdue by 10) and the odds right now do not reflect how much better they are than Dayton. It will take a miracle for the Flyers to win this.

I like Richmond. Florida is now a 1.5 Point favorite. And Ohio State should romp Penn State but thats a big line line for a team that will be playing for their NCAA tourny bid.

Jeez! The line opened at Kentucky -2... I guess the word on the injuries is spreading. Regardless of what it ends up at, I guess I vote for taking the moneyline on Florida. Kentucky is pretty poor away from home, Florida is a better team, and Kentucky has injuries. Odds say take Florida.

2-1 on the day (**** you Liarpari) brings me to 8-7 overall..... however, with your lack of profit on the first three picks there is no way I would ever consider holding you to your offer.

Sorry for letting you down... note to self: don't bet against UConn or Kentucky... 0-5 in those bets.

It's all good. I did have some heartburn about professing your greatness (and you did do well overall) while I ended up negative on the bankroll - since I missed the first picks. However, you did meet the requirements, so if you want the tickets they are yours.

OR if you feel guilty, we can go to overtime . . .

Pick you top 7 picks of the 1st round by Wendesday night, O/U or spreads (sorry no moneyline this time). Hit 4 or more and I'll throw in a 3rd ticket. 3 or less and we are even - no one has to do anything.

Your call. . .

I will take OT. As I said, 8-7 = not good enough. Overall, I went 16-9 in Champ Week... 5 of those 9 misses being against UConn... let's hope I can get some swagger back staying away from the Huskies.

All right! Let's get some winners!!!!

Sucks we missed out on the #1 seed. Hopefully we get Duke.

Going to consolidate my picks int this post here as the lines come out. I like:

Cincinnati +1 over Missouri. Missouri is so similar to Cincy... just a little bit worse. Should be a close game but I'm picking Cincy straight up to win so the point is nice. Cincy is underrated after getting embarrassed by our very own fighting Irish.
Villanova +1.5 over George Mason. Having watched Mason a ton (I live in Fairfax County) this team is probably more talented than the one that went to the Final Four. However, I just have a hunch Villanova is going to come out firing after a disappointing end to the season.
Marquette +1.5 over Xavier. Xavier is so laughably overrated.... only thing in their favor here is that they are playing this game very close to home.
Tennessee EVEN over Michigan. Tennessee has tons of upside. Michigan is just a very average team that can shoot 3s OK. I thought Michigan would come in at a lower seed around an 11 so I think the 8 is a bit of a gift.
Notre Dame -13 over Akron. Akron has gotten tooled pretty hard by some very average teams (Temple by 35, Ohio by 25, Cleveland State by 13) and you have to think Notre Dame is better than Temple, Ohio and Cleveland State, right?
Louisville -9.5 over Morehead State. This one is tricky because Morehead State has one great player and he is a post player. By the same token, everyone locked in Morehead State for a #15 seed (heck, Morehead State players actually lobbied for a 15 because they thought they might get a #16) and Louisville, in my humble opinion, is every bit as good North Carolina, Florida, SDSU and Notre Dame (e.g. they are a #2 seed in terms of talent). I expect Louisville to hold a 6-14 point lead down the stretch and if Morehead State starts fouling it should end up a double digit victory for the Cardinals.
UNDER 147 Cincinnati and Missouri. I flopped back and forth on this but at the end of the day Cinci has only gone over 147 points in a game 5 of 33 games this year (Providence in OT, USF at 148, Utah Valley, St. Francis, Georgia Southern). Missouri has gone over 147 in almost exactly 50% of games. Yes, the Tigers will try to run-and-gun like always but I just think Cinci is good enough to slow them down and if they do end up playing at a break-neck pace for some ludicrous reason and lose.... well, hopefully their offense didn't put out 70+ points in a losing effort because Cinci is 25-0 when scoring over 62 points. In a lot of ways this is a nice hedge against the bet for Cinci +1.

That is all for now... I have pretty solid faith in all of these picks and extremely good confidence in the first 5. Notice how I had to use more facts to justify the last two haha. Staying away from UCLA +2 simply because Izzo in March can defy all odds and logic.

Picks are final. I would suggest locking in some (e.g. Tenn and Cinci) before the line moves. Cinci being an underdog is pretty crazy as is Tenn not being a favorite over Michigan. Let me know when you have placed the bets... until that time I will continue to watch the lines (and injury reports) and these bets may be subject to change.

Taking a shot at tonights game?

Buffalo vs. Quinnipiac (Pick em, o/u 137.5)

Haha no... the only thing I know about either of those schools is that we used to beat Quinnipiac like a rented drum when we were both still part of the Great Western Lacrosse League. Who you got?

No idea. Line opened Buffalo -1.5 and then went to -2 but is now Quinnipiac -1. So I would take Buffalo. It is a true home game for Quinnipiac, though.

Man... after watching this 3 hour The Experts show on ESPNU... I'm really starting to like UCLA +2 over Michigan St. So tough...

MMG would you take UCLA +2 over Michigan State or Louisville -9.5 against Morehead St.?
