Everyone was on Kemba Walker up until probably last week as National Player of the Year. I think Walker may be a little tired or maybe he is just slumping. Regardless, he makes UCONN go. But the way Hansborough is playing, I'm not sure if Walker will even be Big East Player of the Year.

Predictions:

Big East Player of the Year- Ben Hansborough G, Notre Dame

1st Team All-Big East
Kemba Walker G, Connecticut
Ben Hansborough G, Notre Dame
Austin Freeman G, Georgetown
Ashton Gibbs G, Pittsburgh
Rick Jackson F, Syracuse
Corey Fisher G, Villanova

2nd Team All Big East
Marshon Brooks G-F, Providence
Kris Joseph F, Syracuse
Corey Stokes G, Villanova
Jeremy Hazzel G, Seton Hall
Tim Abromitis F, Notre Dame

3rd Team All Big East
Darius Johnson-Odom G, Marquette
Preston Knowles G, Louisville
Scoop Jardine G, Syracuse
Jimmy Butler G-F, Marquette
Dwight Hardy G, St. Johns

Honorable Mention
Casey Mitchell G, West Virginia
Gary McGhee F, Pittsburgh
Malik Wayans G, Villanova

This was alot harder than I thought it was going to be and I was going to give up but I had already invested too much time.

Good work Mr. McGibblets!!!

Realistically, I think Abro is probably a 3rd teamer and I'd put Johnson-Odom (who is averaging over 16 on the year and has even better numbers in the Big East) on the second team instead.

Kyle Kuric could get into the honorable mention discussion if he finishes the season playing anywhere close to as well as he did today vs the Irish (damn, that guy was en fuego).

Thanks...Yea, I could see that. Although I didnt use this as a criteria for all decisions, I gave Abro the nod because he averages more minutes and rebounds per game. But in the end, you could be right.

I think Abro and Scott will both be 3rd teamers.

I really hope that Scott makes a team. He deserves it and he has shown how valuable he is to this team for not only the game that he's played in but the games that he missed as well.

I'd be very suprised of Scott got a nod at 3rd team. Not saying he isnt good or anything, but would be suprised.

I may revamp my Player of the Year to Co-Big East Players of the Year: Walker and Hansborough.

Just saw Thabeet and Blair shared it couple years back.

He could be first team as well. Not sure if they take team performance into account..i guess if the Dominique Jones made 1st team last year....

Rick Jackson may be POY as well.

Also, i was just talking to my brother..... his take:

POY- Rick Jackson (SYR)

1st Team
Rick Jackson- Syr
Kemba Walker- UConn
Ashton Gibbs- Pitt
Corey Fisher- Nova
Ben Hansbrough- ND
Marshon Brooks- Prov

2nd Team
Austin Freeman- GU
Peyton Silva- Lou
Jimmy Butler- Marq
Chris Wright- GU
Brad Wannamaker- Pitt

3rd Team
Scoop Jardine- Syr
Gary McGhee- Pitt
Alex Oriahki- UConn
Kevin Jones- WVU
Carlton Scott- ND

Honorable Mention
Tim Abromitiz- ND
Kris Joseph- Syr
Malik Wayans- Nova
Antonio Pena- Nova
Darius Johnson- Odom
Corey Stokes- Nova
Jeremy Hazel- SH

Kris Joseph is wayyyyyyy overrated. Jeremy Hazel can get there but injured too much this year. Walker is slipping. Jackson is a beast.
Brooks does everything. Could win POY but Prov sucks. Stokes is in a major slump. Hansborough isn't close to winning POY. Abromitiz is the 3rd best player on that team.

Prov is just young and inconsistent, they don't suck. Having 1 Senior and 0 juniors on a team in the Big East will get you killed, but they have beaten Nova and Lville (then again they have lost to Rutgers, South Florida, and St. Johns). Fisher is a disappointment this year, I just don't see him on the first team. IMO Freeman will be one the first team, especially with how well Gtown is playing lately.

It's Abromaitis, Hansbrough, and Carleton.

Sorry just a pet peeve of mine when a team's own fans can't spell the players' names correctly.

Benn Hansborough has been playing great, Tim Abromattiz has been a sold threat outside as well as on the glass. Alot of people think Carlton Scott is the 2nd best player on this team. Scott Martyn, Tirone Knash Eric Adkins continue to perform well in their rolls. Jack Coolee, Joey Broox, and Alex Dragovich see minimal action but when playing 5-10 mins they perform well. While Mike Brogenhammer Tom Nite and Tom Copco bring up the rear of the ND bench.

I guess I get a pass on your pet peeve since I am not even close to being a fan of ND basketball.
