ISD reports an ND offer. Kelly keeps pushing.

It's trite but he will be tough to pull out of California. Even before Southern Cal lost scholarships, Gibson liked CAL.

Rivals Scouting Report

by Barry Every
On the Hoof: Gibson definitely looks the part of a hybrid linebacker/defensive end, tall and lean but not quite big enough to be an every-down lineman. ...
Needs Improvement: Gibson is undersized to project as a defensive end and has not played linebacker. Can he add enough weight and play with better leverage at the point of attack? If he projects as a linebacker he will need to play in space and work on his hips and backpedal.
Most Impressive: If he can play linebacker with his the ideal size and length, then look for him to be cross-trained at both strongside and weakside linebacker. He has excellent straight-ahead speed and should be a serious pass-rushing threat. Gibson also has the ability to go sideline to sideline to make defensive stops.
Conclusion: He most likely will need to redshirt while he is converted from defensive end to linebacker. He also will be getting looks on all the coverage teams because this kid can fly and is not afraid of contact. ...

Brian Smith ISD mentions today that Gibson has an Irish offer. ISD reported an ND offer to Gibson last month but nobody else seems to be aware of it. Blue & Gold still lists him as an ND prospect. Rivals, Scout, and ESPN don't list any ND involvement.

His ESPN profile notes:
Gibson may be a tweener outside linebacker/defensive end but this guy is very athletic, explosive and a natural pass-rusher who could make a difference at the next level. Tall, very well-built and put-together for a projected outside linebacker.

I can't believe he wants to play for that cheater Tedford. Horrible coach but the guy gets players.
