Believe it or not, there are several within reach.

So, I've compiled a list of records that I believe are possible to be broken this season, as well as the most likely candidate to break them. Expect to see Michael Floyd appear on this about 10,000,000 times.

BGIF, if you know of any other records not seen here that you think have even the most remote chance of being broken, feel free to add on.

Barring injury, one will be set this season. By Armando Allen, actually. The Irish record for career receptions by a running back is 109, set by Darius Walker from 2004-2006. Armando Allen needs just 8 catches this season to break that record.

Other possible records:

- Career receiving yards (Current record holder, Golden Tate: 2,707). Michael Floyd needs 1,193 yards this season (less than 100 per game) to break this record.

- Career receiving touchdowns (Current record holder, Jeff Samardzija: 27). Michael Floyd needs 12 touchdowns to break this record (one per game).

- Career receptions (Current record holder, Jeff Samardzija: 179). Michael Floyd needs 87 receptions to break this record.

- Receptions in a season (Current record holder, Golden Tate: 93). Floyd will have to average just under 8 receptions per game to break this record.

- Touchdown receptions in a season (Current record holders are Samardzija, Rhema McKnight and Golden Tate: 15) If Floyd catches at least one touchdown pass per game, he will have to catch two in at least four games to break this record.

- Receiving yards in a season (Current record holder, Golden Tate: 1,496) Floyd will have to average almost 125 yards per game to break this record.

- Rushing touchdowns in a season (Current record holder, Vagas Ferguson: 14) Armando Allen with have to run for at least a touchdown in every game, and two touchdowns in at least three games.

I believe that Michael Floyd will break the career receiving yards and career receiving touchdowns records. All of the rest are just wishful thinking, but possible (in some cases highly unlikely but still possible).

bringing this back,

Floyd would need a great bowl game to finish in the record books if he leaves after this year.

- Career receiving touchdowns (Current record holder, Jeff Samardzija: 27). Michael Floyd needs 12 touchdowns to break this record (one per game).

Needs 2 more to break this

- Career receptions (Current record holder, Jeff Samardzija: 179). Michael Floyd needs 87 receptions to break this record.

Needs 14 receptions to break this

not sure of any others, just thought this was interesting.

How about the best defense in November record? We might not have broken it all time, but dammit we turned in a great performance that hasn't been seen in a long time. I'll give them a record.

I'm all for giving the Defense some kind of November record.

I'm sure we have a stat geek or two here that could dig one up!

1 touchdown allowed in November? That's gotta be something right?

The 1966 ND football team allowed only 1 touchdown, and only 10 points total, in November. For a look at defensive dominance, check out the '66 team.
