Congrats to the men's basketball team, winners of the old spice classic with a 58-51 win over Wisconsin. The team is now 7-0. What a weekend for Irish sports....

If you haven't watched the Irish Hoops team, do so. I have watched every game televised thus far, and they are well balanced and fun to watch. They are a team through and through. They have come back on some good teams to win. A very nice team. And our freshman point guard is getting better and better every game.

Watch this team. Women too. Go Irish!!!!!!!!

I love watching this year's team play. It's hard to believe how much better that Ty Nash has gotten over the past year.

Also, Atkins is an incredible talent for a freshman. This team is made up of very unselfish players which will make them that much harder to defend throughout the season.

I'm definitely liking what I see so far and Atkins already reminds me of Jackson. Great way to finish one of the best weekends I can remember. Should be a fun season to watch the Irish hang with the big boys of the Big East!

Congrats to the Irish basketball team!!! My expectations were low this year after losing Luke and Tory, but this team is surprisingly solid. They play really good defense and, while they haven't shown it yet, they have a lot of really good shooters on the team. Martin is solid, although he's not playing as well as I expect him to as the season progresses. Nash is a beast this year inside. Scott, Abro and Hansborough are good experienced players that can all shoot lights out when they get a hot hand. Atkins is a very composed freshman and will be something special. Cooley hasn't impressed me at all on offense, but he's a big body that can play defense.

Now we really get to see what this team is all about with the games at Kentucky and at home vs Gonzaga in the next 2 weeks.

My assessment is that we are going to struggle against teams with a lot of size, but that's really nothing new with Brey's teams in the past. This team is much more balanced and won't have to rely so heavily on one player as we have the past 3 years with big Luke. I believe that 20 wins shouldn't be a problem.

Dont get too excited. ND has not played Kentucky and Gonzaga yet. Not to mention ND has'nt even started Big East play. ND will be lucky to go 7-11 in the Big East this year. ND could be one of those teams that win 19-20 games but do too poorly in conference play and dont make the tourney.

The Big East is a brutal conf, but c'mon...They beat a good Sec team in Georgia, a good Pac 10 program in Cal, and beat a Wisconsin team that is well coached and always good! EA for a Freshman looks good, and Carlton Scott is going to be a BIG suprise this year!

You are new, so I will give you the heads up, dont bother arguing. He roots for ND to lose.
