I don't know what any of you guys think, but I thought the atmosphere at the game today was louder than I've ever heard it. But then again, I haven't been to many games..

Thoughts?

I guess Michigan was pretty rowdy this year too. But yea, definitely would have to go back to Bush-push to find a better atmosphere.

This was the first game in forever where the crowd actually jumped through the television.

I had the amazing pleasure of experiencing that atmosphere in person and I have to say I agree with your statement about the game. I've been to one other Notre Dame game in my life and today's game was by far a different feel. Just walking around seeing all of the Utah fans, all the red. Seeing sections 114-119 full of red. I actually had a Ute fan shake my hand as I was walking toward the Stadium and say, "Good Luck." Notre Dame was NOT supposed to win this game. Which makes being there and experiencing it that much better.

What I keep thinking about is how this game could have marked the turning point for this program. It's all the guys were talking about on Sunny 101. Watching the intensity of our D. 3 drives stuffed on 4th downs, 2 of them inside the redzone. Allowing a field goal on Utah's first drive and then nothing for the next 54 minutes. A freshman quarterback, Tommy Rees, in his first start running the offense confident, throwing 3 td's and no int's. All around, it was a different team. No, they aren't where they need to be but they are getting there.

What a way for the seniors to go out with a bang in their final game at the Stadium. Congratulations Notre Dame for such a big win. The team, coaches, and fans were in desperate need of a win, but a win of this magnitude makes it all the better.

This was my second game this year and I have been to at least one game every year since 1998, this game was by far the most fun. I was at the Michigan State game in 2005 when we came back just to fall short in overtime. This by far was the best atmosphere.

I am a senior, and the stadium noise was the loudest from start to finish in my four years at the University. The crowd was just so energized and everybody was into the game.

Very fun game and I'm so happy to go out with a Win at my last home game as a student. I couldn't have asked for more.

it's funny you do a thread on the crowd noise. i just posted this in another thread, but one of my former players (soccer) attends ND and he called me during the game so i could hear the crowd going nuts.

i've been to a couple games at ND and the crowd noise wasn't all that impressive, but what i heard on the phone and tv was special. great win!!

Only dissapointment I had for the crowd was looking at the empty "gold section" seats. These are the OLD farts with $$ who refuse to come unless it is 70 and sunny with ND undefeated. Those are the same old farts who don't want a jumbotron for the stadium.

Those old farts should give their damn tickets away and just stay home and watch all the games in their mansions.

That was the ONLY dissapointment to an otherwise AWESOME day.

I honestly feel like we should just clear some room in the pressbox and send the "gold seat crowd" up into cushy little suites and extend the student section on the west side and just make those tickets regular pricing on the east side

Oh i was at that game and that was pretty insane i have been to a lot of games and that was the wildest i have been to so i agree.

I was also at the Washington game last year, and the MSU one. I would say the Washington game last year was a bit louder. But considering we were in control of this game from the first quarter on, and that the crowd was still wired from start to finish, I think the crowd at this game was better. In the Washington game it was back and forth the whole game and OT. There were alot of Utah fans at the game yesterday. They travel well. I was suprised how they seemed to have no presence.

I loved it yesterday. Just watched the highlights.

Normally when we make a play or score a touchdown, you'll hear a small exclamation from the crowd followed by some applause. Never anything loud. Yesterday, whenever we made a play the crowd finally ROARED. God, it was beautiful.

It was electric. We stood the whole game. Utah does travel well and if they had something to cheer for yesterday I think they could have made some me noise.

The senior players and students needed an A game and they got it All !
