Neutered was given some time off because of events which occurred over private message. The details will remain private but I will say that there was insurmountable tension between him and members of my staff. Because I rely on my staff to keep these boards clean and updated and have the utmost respect for their work during this season and because I have already lost two mods this season to the wear and tear of dealing with the anger that comes with 5-5, I erred on the side of my staff and giving them enough room to do their jobs. I respect what you do and most of the Mods, but why should someone get banned over private messages?

I am honestly curious, it seems that those messages are private, so why be banned over them. I am all for someone who gets banned for stupid post but i don't understand the private part.

A private message isn't a license for actions free of consequence. This painful lesson was learned in BGIF's departure earlier this season. With Neutered, it wasn't a matter of the content of the message as much as it was clear to me that no matter what I could say or do, there was going to be a very difficult relationship between him and members of my staff and that this antagonism would lead not only to either his permanent ban or giving leave to another moderator but also drag others, as it did with BGIF, into an unnecessary drama that has no place on an otherwise smooth-running, respectable Irish fan site. The ban on Neutered is not permanent and hopefully will be enough time for things to cool off with whatever tensions exist.

I agree with what you are saying and understand competely.

I guess I just don't understand, how something that is private should become public in the sense of a ban.

But I will say again I agree with what you do, and some of the others that work with you.

Neutered is one of the better posters on this site, and it just sucks, for lack of a better term. That he must be banned because he brings so much to this board more than most.

Nuetered has had a ton of things going on lately affecting the way he posts, and moreso his PMs. He noted to me over the phone that this break is needed as his mindset, and physical ailments haven't been constructive regarding his ND fanhood. That being said, the man is passionate about the things that more people should be passionate about. He eats, sleeps, and leaves little round compost droppings when it comes to ND football.

He said his ban will last until January I think. Of course, thats seems harsh, but it is what it is... This is this...

Should the Gods of IE find his grace in need, I hope they bring him back. In the meantime, let us all remember him occasionally as we have in this thread. For he is with us now. Lurking like an amoeba in a minnow brain, errr something.

i'm so happy with this win. didn't have a chance to come on here.

well done to our irish boys!!!! as neutered would say, the pups are all grown up. they played with a passion we haven't seen lately and being an admitted hayseed critic....he played awesome. the entire defense played great.
