I'll answer you quite simply: Politics has everything to do with ND football and the future of our nation. If we completely convert to socialism, I'm sure we'll become a soccer nation...

BTW, Go Irish!!!

No socialism! Repeal health care, social security, medicare, medicaid, and funding for interstates!

Don't forget funding for universities like Notre Dame and closing all of the public universities that make up 90% of ND's schedule!

Sarah Palin's ALaska huh, even after she QUIT on the state.

Gotta love the GOP and Tea Party, they get voted in and what is there #1 priority? Ensuring Obama doesn't get a second term by using government money to open weekly investigations on whether or not Obama has done anything that can be considered an impeachable offense.

Not Jobs but more spending, oh and extending the Bush tax cuts that have seen unemployment raise every year since it has been implemented and adds anywhere between $300-400 BILLION to the deficit because now it will create jobs. Not like before.

Love Politics

Obama

Let's see....this president has not newly invaded a country, wasting tons of money uselessly. He never quit on a job. He has formed a bipartisan commission on cutting the deficit. He is going around the world courting critical economic consensus.

But I'm certain Sarah Palin would be doing those things as well if she were president!!!

Technically "socialism" mean state ownership of the means of production, so in theory it's not certain that those are socialist programs. In any event, interstate funding by the state is sound economic theory as one of the few market failures in capitalism -- we can't have lots of different companies competing to build different roads for profit.

But you do raise an interesting point -- Soc Sec. is a Ponzi scheme, and what's actually governmental about Medicare (it's run, billed and audited by private compaies) is highly inefficient and wasteful.
