Even thought today's loss hurts, it's always a joy when the Wolverines fall.

This time, they fell to lowly Penn State, who got pummeled at home by Illinois a couple of weeks ago. To make matters worse, they gave up 250 yards passing to a walk-on quarterback.

This makes me happy, as Michigan's best case scenario appears to be 7-5. Still better than us, but Kelly's in his first year.

I happened to grow up in the same neighborhood as that walk-on quarterback. He's always been accused of being ****y, but he's just supremely confident in his abilities. He's a good kid. The best part, was where he called out Herbie on the post game interview. During College Gameday Herbie said, "Penn State had no chance to win with McGloin running the offense." After the game Matty said, "People have been doubting me all week, like Herbstreit--I'm gunnin' for him." That is ****ing awesome. He called out Herbie on national TV after the victory. It was great. JoePa has quit a decision on who to start.

Good for McGloin, who was always an Irish fan until he went to Penn State. They used to fly their Notre Dame flag, and there was a little war between them and another household, who were Penn State fans, with the stealing of the flags. Man they peppered the Penn State fans house with ND stuff the one year, it was a riot. Just wanted to share my experience with the McGloins.

They could lose to the Illini. Sure would make a win against Purdue pretty important....next 2 games determine Dicky Poo's future. I love it.

Anybody want to get back to the Richrod Vs. Les Miles thread and argue for RichRod, and his fabulous ability to build top ten defenses?

RichRod is as good as done as far as I am concerned. Illinois is really not all that bad. They lost to Missouri, tOSU and MSU.. Purdue is the only "gimme" game on that schedule. 6-6 is most likely and a trip to the unemployment line.

Yep. You could see the look on his face. And Illinois is not as bad as people think. (So I agree there too) They wont beat Wisconsin and they wont beat Ohio State. I'm thinking 6-6 as well phork. Unless they pull a miracle. You think he keeps his job if they win 7 and a bowl?

I love watching Michigan loose. I live in Michigan. Many of my friends are the ****y, always overconfident, thinking they deserve the number one spot even with a loosing record people . Along with them being a rival, this is the biggest reason I hate Michigan. I am so glad we don't have a fan base like that. I'm happy to be a part of a fan base that has a more realistic look at its team, even when we are struggling as we are.

based on many fans predictions for this years ND team, i saw plenty of unrealistic boasting about this team. you see, saying ND fans are above what other teams fans would do shows an arrogance that many people complain about ND fans having.

now, as a part time UM fan, id just as soon they go 1-4 the rest of the way (which they may well do), ending 6-6, but more importantly, only winning 2 games in conference. that should spell the end for DickRod. no excuse in year 3 for having one of the absolute worst defenses in D1 football.

all teams have, as part of their fan base, those who are realistic about their team, and those who are drinking the kool aid all the time....including ND......every last one of my UM rooting friends have a very realistic view of how far down the UM program has fallen.

I hope Michigan doesn't hire Harbaugh. That guy can seriously coach. The Carr era was tough on us too. Now Rich Rod has had our card, but everyone else has gotten the best of the Wolverines. They're a good program that deserves to be at the top of the heap, like us.

I really hope Harbaugh is happy at Stanford...

1) I was at happy valley and watching michigan lose in person was special.

2) I didn't get to talk to ishaq, unfortunately

3) A night game in beaver stadium with 108,000 people is insane. Loudest stadium I've ever been in. What an experience!

4) McGloin is a walk on QB who played flawless football for 4 quarters

If they lose to tOSU again I think it doesn't matter. 3 straight to MSU, 3 to tOSU and a 5-19 Big10 Record in the Big10 is reason for dismissal in and of itself. The fact that the NCAA still has yet to rule on UMs violation. If the NCAA comes back with a negative ruling that will give UM the financial saving grace it needs to jettison him. I laugh at the UM fans on mgoblog who are saying they are so close... Next year the defense is just as bad..

It makes me smile that the same things that got Weis canned will be the demise of RichRod. All offense, no defense.

Harbaugh's next stop is the NFL, don't fool yourself. With the blood line in that family don't be surprised if he ends up in Carolina next year.

Don't laugh now, but I don't hate Oregon. I just changed my avatar to that bcuz of yours :)

And 'dskoo65' the difference for me is that we as ND fans hate to be as bad as we are, but aren't walking around believing we are the best at this moment. We aren't still claiming imortalitly. Even after 3 straight losses alot of the Michigan fans I know are. What any fan of any team believes before the season starts I am fine with. I attribute that to belief in your team, and desire to see your team succeed. Most fans begin the year with high hopes. Its just as we loose and perform poorly, we accept the position we are in and are honest about the state of our program.

but, that is YOUR persective. i see plenty of ND fans who are that way. i see plenty of UM fans that are very realistic about their team. i root for UM. i havent thought they had a special team for more than a decade.

your idea that ND fans are above other teams fans is exactly the kind of arrogance that im talking about.

I just have the gut feeling that Harbaugh will be coming home and be the head coach at Michigan.

This situation is kind of reminding me of the Bump Elliot era to the Schembechler years.

(Except Elliot actually won a Big Ten title & Rose Bowl once)

I know man. I loved Weis's brand of football. Now I have to find a way to love BK's offense. I dig BK's defense.

Let me know where anywhere in any of my posts I have ever said that we are above any other fan base. It has never, nor will ever happen. My comment was based purely on living in Michigan and the majority of my friends that aren't Notre Dame fans are Michigan fans. Everything I have stated is a FACT. And also the many Michigan fans I have will iften admit their fanbase is this way.

those comments in bold were talking about the michigan fan base, which obviously comprises many more perspectives than those of your friends.

As the comments you decided to bold were OBVIOUSLY after the specific comment of most of my friend are Michigan fans, I guess i assumed you would have made the correct assumption I was refering to the ones I know. WHICH I WAS! The comments were made as a whole, not to be picked apart and made into what they aren't.
