I take it you don't have very much faith in many things. I'm not trying to stir the pot or anything, I'm just saying as an true Irish fan I can bring myself to writing this man off yet. How did you honestly think this year would play out? You had to know there would be some tough times and I'm sure your not surprised. I will admit, losing to Navy and Tulsa in consecutive weeks is hard to swallow but with the success we have had in the last 3 or 4 years BK wasn't going to upright the ship in 9 games. Your asking for a miracle, and I simply can't start making judgements so soon in his reign as coach. Navy obviously isn't the cupcake they used to be, and you have to admit, the depth chart is just a little hobbled right now. I'm not trying to make excuses but you can't fault me for trying to stay positive and hopeful. Notre Dame football is not going to die tomorrow and I, for one, will be as patient as I need to be.

Navy lost to Duke today!!!!! Yes, Duke the basketball school!!! I've said these things about our opponents, but I'm not lieing to myself anymore. We are at the middle of the pack right now in college football. Mediocre at best!!!

We ARE at the middle of the pack. I'd even say the bottom half after Saturday's loss. Your giving them too much credit haha! Listen, I am a die hard Notre Dame football fan, but I am also a realist and I call it like I see it and right now, we are just plain not good. Calling us Mediocre is a compliment at this point.

My beef with losing to Navy is the option. I mean really? Navy has been running the option offense ever since they have been playing football, how hard is it to defend honestly? Kids are running the option in High School, you can't tell me our linebacking crew and DB's have never seen the option. Whether it was poor preperation or bad reads or whatever, it still kills me to see Navy run that dang option down our throats for over 350 yards on the ground. It just makes me sick to my stomach.

I will not vent on here, so please, do the site a favor and ban me before I lose my marbles with this team and completely voice my opinions. For me, no more, "well our freshman quarterback played a whale of a game (which he did minus some less than savory decision making), or the defense played their hearts out against a potent offense (which they did NOT except for Kapron ahnd maybe Manti), or you are not a fan if you give up and bad mouth this team. Simply put, we lost to Navy and TULSA in as many weeks. TULSA ladies and gentelmen. TULSA. Accountability must present itself immediately. No beatring around the bush, we lost to navy (again) and TULSA.

Later and mods, please put me out of my misery.

If they ban you, we don't have the luxury of looking at your avatar anymore.

Brian Kelly is relentless, if not, hell-bent on winning. His record as a head coach shows. That being said, the Spread offense he runs is a proven scheme that obviously wins games. His 2009 Cincinnatti Bear Cats team was ranked in the top 10 in both points scored a game and total offense a game. Not to mention undefeated until Coach Kelly packed his bags for South Bend. That's pretty impressive. And for a coach to change his coaching scheme to meet the ability of his players is ludacris. College football is all about recruiting. The players on Notre Dame's current roster were all recruited to play in Charlie Weis' pro-style offense. So it is not a naive question, it is just common sense.

Sorry if you considered my question ludacris (sic). Your comment, however, begs my ludicrous question which was, in its essence, is the spread offense the only offensive scheme that Kelly knows? If that is the case, then I guess he is stuck with trying to fit the players who were recruited for a pro-style offense under Weis into the spread scheme (kind of like trying to put square pegs into round holes). If he has a broader range of knowledge, however, but just prefers the spread, it would seem to me that he might run the type of offense for which he has the personnel until he gets the guys in who are more suited to the spread. Again, just looking for an answer to what may be a naive question. Don't think that shows an absence of common sense, just a lack of football knowledge.
