I'm on a cold streak. NDOM, whats the play here? Besides Oregon outright--- at 1/40 odds is weak.

1/40? Ugh.

I say take UCLA and the points. UCLA its one of the top rushing teams in the country, they can hold away from Oregon. Only way to slow down Oregon. Oregon wins, take the points and UCLA.

I would definately take the over on the points. Oregon has scored 72,69, and 52 points at home this year. definately take the over.

If ND played Oregon, that duck would be doing A LOT of pushups...at least 300.

I have absolutely no proof (let me reiterate, zero proof!) of this but I've got a gut feeling that Oregon is the next major team going down the USC, Miami of the 80's, UNC, Michigan and Florida (probably in the near future) path. By that I mean loss of scholarships, practice time and NCAA investigations in general.

Anyone else?

WTF? Who cares? They are are playing the Bruins you knuckleheads. Not Notre Dame. Remember that.

I think if they play Boise State, BSU whoops that *** again. Write that down. (Pardon my tangent.)

Eh, I think it's a fair observation. All I said to myself during the first half was "thank god we don't play them." That's one of the most impressive looking offenses I've ever seen, and their defense ain't half bad either.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Oregon v Boise would be an epic National Championship game.

How is it a fair observation? We don't play them. If we played them at some point i could see it. But we dont so IMO It's beyond irrelevant

Ok, so the 300 points was out of line and obnoxious. Besides that, anything we chat about, and I can not make myself clear enough on this point, is irrelevant. We are fans on an internet website. Speculating on Oregon vs ND is as relevant as our speculating on ND vs Navy or ND or Michigan's likely records this year. It's fun, it helps put the games into context (watching Oregon tonight is made all the more impressive when I remember what Stanford did to us and what Oregon did to Tree.) I understand why NDOM's relentless negativity gets old, or why the 300 points was obnoxious, but if you're watching the game you'll understand why people are impressed with Oregon/want to be like them/are glad we don't play them this year. I don't think that's irrelevant, is it?

Guess we have a new IE thread rule: no more speculating on how one team would match up against another.

Stanford should have beat Oregon. Their defense broke down. Anyone recall the halftime score?

Their defense breaking down was not a fluke. Are you watching this game? Oregon plays at a pace and with a sense of urgency I have NEVER seen in football. Stanford is a great football team, and they stayed with them for a half. UCLA is not a bad football team, and they stayed with them for about 5 minutes.

edit: I also believe Stanford didn't score a point in the second half. That's more than a defensive breakdown, that's a team built for one type of football breaking down when they're forced to play at another level.

edit:
Oregon cheerleaders are hot.

Fact.

Bull dookey. I'm not impressed. They had that AFTER BSU last year too.

I bet you all my vBucks they break down and lose to someone in the Pac-10 like USC of all people.

That's right. I said it: USC will beat Oregon this year.

By the way, I said the duck would do 300 pushups not Oregon would score 300 points.

Duck does push ups for every point they score...UO scores a td plus extra point = 7 push ups. UO scores again...duck does 14 push ups etc, etc.

Therefore, if UO scores 63 points on 9 TD's...duck does 7 + 14 + 21 + 28 + 35 + 42 + 49 + 56 + 63 push ups for a grand total of 315 push ups.
