Nice little article in the South Bend Tribune about our boy Tate's early struggles this season to crack the line up. Looks like he's still saying humble about it; I'm sure given time he'll be doing some damage.

Tate caught his first pass in spectacular fashion today, a 52 yard play in which Tate shook a defender loose downfield. That catch alone made him their leading receiver on the day.

Yeah that was pretty sick especially because he was covered and it wasn't a great throw. I'd love to see them use him as a Santana Moss type WR.

After his first year, who would ever think he'd put up such sick numbers or win the Biletnikoff. I have no doubt he'll be a productive NFL WR, his hands are too good, he's quick as hell, and hard as hell to tackle. And he loves maple bars.

Anyone have a link or video of Tate's catch and 2 punt returns? I can't find anything on Youtube.

Thanks!

I'd forgotten all about that - that incident was hilarious. They lure you in, you know.

Well, I really hope Golden Tate has an excellent year. Unfortunately, since the Sea Hawks have The Poodle for a head coach, I'll be rooting against them winning any game.

And how about our boy Tate in week 3? Ripped off a good punt return, and a couple of passes as a 3rd wideout 4 for 33 yards... moving up, slowly but surely.

This week...

3 catches for 30 yards.
3 punt returns for 6 yards. Long of 18 yards.

The Seahawks suck. They just got beat by the Rams, 20-3. I don't know what Pete Carroll thinks he's doing. He's playing like six different wide receivers at the same time, which kills rhythm and timing on offense. Tate, Mike Williams, Deion Branch, Deion Butler and Brandon Stokley have all seen passes thrown their way. Seattle never goes five wide.

He's not thinking, that's the problem. Ball distribution works when your quarterback is one of the best (Manning, Brady, Brees), but once you get outside of that chips in the armor begin to show.

Here's hoping Tate keeps up the pressure on the starters.
