For those curious.

With Crist we had:

9 possessions, 41 plays. 379 yards and 24 points. Average of 9.24 yards a play.

Without Crist:

8 possessions, 36 plays. 172 yards and 0 points. Average of 4.7 yards a play.

Potentially if we had Crist for the whole game, assuming we still had 17 possessions:

17 possessions, 77 plays. 716 yards and 45 points

This doesn't really prove anything except that any Mich fan who thinks they would've won even if Crist played the whole game is very wrong. And our offense potentially could be deadly by the end of the year.

I've already done the crude math in my head and it just makes me more depressed.

Let just hope our offense starts being deadly this weekend against MSU!!!

The other thing is you have to throw out at least one outlier play: Rudolph's 95 yard TD.

Though Crist (obviously) looked much better than Rees and Montana, the only drive that REALLY got me excited was the first one. The other two scoring drives were generated by big plays and, lets be honest, pretty terrible mistakes on the part of Michigan's D.

It looked good, but it can get a lot better.

Have no fear, we are in good hands. Anyone who refutes the fact that if Crist was in the whole game we would have won.
Yes yes, hindsight is 20/20 and all that.. Stats are for losers etc.. Crist out for a half and ND still rolls up 535 yards of offense.

I'll take every big play I can get. How do you think Michigan scored most of thier point?

I just meant that, if you're trying to figure out yards per play with crist in versus yards per play with Crist out, the 95 yarder skews the data something fierce.

And I'm assuming in addition to the noted outlier in the 95 yard pass, you will factor in the injuries Michigan has, especially in the secondary?
