Like knee pads and longer pants are really going to restrict a players ability to jump and run. I know a player thinks so but it really doesn't. The protection is worth more than what they think they might gain. Thanks for the reply
Yes, the longer pants and pads do restrict motion. I guess that is a risk they are willing to take, but receivers have gone knee padless for a while now.
I have often thought about ways to lighten the padding a football player wears
especially the helmets, while offering max protection. I remember a couple of years in high school when we switched to Bike air helmets. Those things weighed a friggen ton.
Crist's short sleeves make absolute sense to me. Someone joked in the gameday thread that he needs longer sleeves, but the less resitriction your uniform "package" can cause, the better.
