Does anyone want to drive off the road into a light pole when they listen to Bob "Pipes" Criqui?? He is the WORST radio announcer EVER. "There's a handoff,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,gain of twenty yards by,,,, Woods, . He NEVER says the players name, where the play is heading, yardage as they are moving down the field. You are supposed to paint a picture so the llstener can visualize the play. When I listen to him I see Black an empty page. Pathetic, listen to Jeff Joniak, Bears radio announcer he is awesome. When I watch a Bears game, I turn down the TV to listen to Joniak and Tom Thayer, they are awesome. Criqui makes me hurry home to stop listening to him, anyone else have a similar reaction??

I haven't had the pleasure of listening to ND on the radio...I'm from Central Pennsylvania (the Alabama of Pennsylvania)

That seems like one boring broadcast...hell my high school games were done by guys who can hardly read and they described the games in vivid detail and actually had me excited a few times while listening to games after I graduated and was out at camp or whatnot for the weekend.

I listened closer to the game and I did not notice a lisp at all. Matter of fact, I thought Mayock was awesome. That guy REALLY knows his stuff, and was ultra-prepared.

Agree that Mayock did a nice job. He did have a bit of a lisp, and he did say KURRY Neal multiple times during the broadcast. C'est la vie. He and Dennis DeYoung from Styx will be holding down the broadcast booth for a while.

I'm not much for swearing but DAMM some of you guys can't find enough to gripe about. Some good announcer has a minor speaking flaw which most of us can't even hear because we're actually watching the game with interest? Boy. that's a real burden to carry. And my old classmate, Don Criqui, gets skewered for not tickling your gonads enough on a radio broadcast? How about admiring the guy for 50 years of honorable work and loyalty to Notre Dame? Any of the complainers ever go through a football camp? That's something to speak about as if you had to face up to something. My brother from Virginia Tech's ancient Peach bowl team used to listen to this sort of whining and say, yeh, bet the guy never took a snap. Good Lord, people, Man up!!
