Penn State mascots seem to have issues with the law and underage drinking. Can't really blame them too much. I was guilty of it in my day.. aw well worth a look/laugh anyway.

Police in State College, Pa., issued an underage drinking summons to Clint Gyory on Aug. 24. He was also cited for public drunkenness and criminal mischief on August 1.

Gyory was supposed to don the Nittany Lion costume for Saturday's opener against Youngstown State. But athletic department officials say he's been suspended for a month.

Penn State cheerleading coach Curtis White said in a statement this week that Gyory regrets his actions.

An athletic department spokesman says someone else will wear the mascot costume this month and appear at all football games and other scheduled events.

Another student who played the mascot was suspended for the 2009 Rose Bowl against Southern California after a DUI charge.

A couple of years ago a Stanford Tree got busted:

Some of them have misbehaved. (One Tree was arrested for public intoxication at a Cal-Stanford basketball game. The soused sapling was seen sipping from a flask during the game and subsequently blew a 0.15. Trees now get a pregame Breathalyzer at all football games.)

I vaguely recall a female tree getting busted after teetering about. Don't know if this is the same situation described above.

lol - That is hilarious. I took a pic with the leprechaun at the last ND game I was at. Of course I was tail gating and holding a beer. Understandably he made me set it down and explained that he wasn't allowed to take any pictures that would portray the school, team, or mascot in any negative light.

I actually thought that was actually pretty cool...
