Mountain West Conference Invites Fresno State and Nevada - MWC OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

Edited the title to show the new update. Fresno St and Nevada just officially joined the Mountain West. This puts them at 12 teams, including BYU who is expected to leave.

wouldnt surprise me. they're always stacked. they have a new coach though right? im still waiting for the villanova/ucf/memphis/whoever to go to the big east and make it a 12 team league.

Mountain West is a curious thing. They were the WAC, then left themselves while dumping UTEP, and renamed themselves Mountain West. Meanwhile, the WAC became a conference of...well...

So now Utah is gone and BYwho is looking elsewhere. Hmmm.

The only problem with that is that Montana has some tie with Montana State, and if Montana moved to the FBS, Montana State would have to come too.

I'm guessing the Montana/Montana State tie-in is due to both schools sharing the same campus. Cuts down on expenses dontchaknow.

...i agree...they are curious. the evolution has been simply odd...


I am sad though, because the MW conference as a whole did alot of damage to the BCS ass hats. Had they held together another couple years, they'd have gotten an automatic. Now, w/Utah bailing and BYU trying to be ND...well, they lose the two biggest giant killers...Boise state will still do ok, but then who?

I love the david and goliath story, and the MW was my modern day David...I will never forget the ass whacking Bama took from Utah, and the absolute drubbing Sam Bradford took from BYU...Good times.....

hopefully Utah doesn't have one of those waiting for us...guess that makes me a hypocrit, cause this year I'm a Goliath guy.
