Today while volunteering at Calvert Hall College in Baltimore I by chance ran into Mel Kiper Jr. In our short conversation I learned three things. 1. He is one of the most genuinely friendly people you will ever meet. 2. He thinks big things are about to happen in South bend. 3. One of his favorite teams is ND. Just thought I would share this encounter with the rest of Irish Nation.

4. His hair is always perfect

Good to hear about Mel. I have always like him and his insight. I wish he would just clock McShay once.

Mel beating up McShay on camera is something I would trade a lot of almost anything to see!

McGay doesn't compare anywhere to Mel.

Watching those two in a conversation is like watching Lou talking to Mark May. A football genius talking to a football moron.

Out of the "experts" in sports, Mel Kiper Jr. is by far my favorite.

I am going to root for Brady and Jimmy regardless, but I hope they blow sh*t up simply to squash any conversation on if McShay has a clue.

JaMarcus Russell and Tim Tebow v Brady Quinn and Jimmy Clausen.

Nice...thanks! Really cool that you met him. It's been well-known that he is a big ND fan, and speaks very highly of the university.

I personally wish he had his own radio show or his own podcast or something. I could listen to this guy for days...he knows a lot about not only football, but other sports as well, and he just has a great was of communicating his opinions to listeners. And when he does the Saturday show on ESPN radio he's phenomenal.

Glad to hear that he's a good guy as well...

He was bashed when Clausen dropped to 48.

Clausen dropped because people are stupid.

Mel seems about as genuine as an analyst can be...very cool that you got to meet him and he was nice.

Will have the last laugh. I do think Tebow is more talented than some people do. But, I think Brady Quinn is a better quarterback than Tebow is. So, Clausen is in a great situation and will shine. Tebow has to get passed a better QB to even get on the field.

He has to get past "two" better quarterbacks... Bite your tongue. ;) Although, at this point, I'd trade Orton for a bucket of tobacco spit... He's about as useless as a bull w/ teets. Just sayin'

I don't know about Quinn or Teebag. I think they are both going to have underwhelming careers.

Tebow going in the first round will hurt him. He will be forced to play right away for a mediocre team and a coach that already has people questioning him.

He won't be forced to play at all, it is common knowledge that he has a ton of work to do before he is NFL ready. He was a complete reach as 1. Brady Quinn will average his way to the starting position all year. But hey BQ still is better than Jamarcus Russell!
