Wait, since USC is appealing, don't the restrictions and sanctions not take affect until the appeal has been settled? So essentially they can play that game anyway and even go to a bowl game if the appeal hasn't been settled by then, right?

When Bama got slapped with sanctions AD Mal Moore (an ND assistant under Holtz) called ND and begged out of a home and home series that already was under contract. Moore cited the depleted ranks due to NCAA mandated scholarship reductions wouldn't be competitive with ND. ND agreed to rip up the contract with no penalties, no cash buyout, etc.

Bama quickly signed a contract with Hawaii and then promoted their Hawaiian "bowl" trip as a reward to their fans who had to suffer at the "unfairness" of the NCAA.

That Hawaii game is now one of Bama's vacated games.

Certainly lost revenue would hurt the Isles. But, shouldn't they hold USC accountable rather than the NCAA?

Rhetorical question I suppose... I just hope those trojans stay away from our Hawaii recruits. BTW, that's the real reason they are playing Hawaii from a coaches standpoint. The kids will love the free vacation.
