Wow. Kid seems to throw catchable passes. Great supporting crew. How about ND recruit the entire team and coaching staff.

Is Bubba a better athlete than Clausen yes, is he a better QB prospect no. I like Bubba a lot but I disagree when people say he has more upside than Clausen. I think people have very short memories and forget how big of a prospect Clausen was. People were saying he had Elway potential coming out of high school.

You mean how Jimmy was Rivals #1 prospect and heralded as the 15 year prospect? Most on this forum have not forgotten that. I remember how excited I was when I watched the Outside The Lines report on him before he committed.

The athleticism that Bubba posses is far superior to that of Jimmy. Jimmy was more polished coming out of high school. Further development of Bubba could make him just as good as Jimmy.

Let's try to keep this threads topic on Worley.

I think Kelly should extend offers to Numbers 84, 6 and 12 too. Those guys can get open and catch the rock!

:eek:hwhateve

All I'm getting from this is "I'm a Bubba Starling fan." Anyways atleast Worley can fire the pig skin accurately. He scans the field and check downs, the kid has the tools..

Per on the trail:

Highly-productive quarterback Justin Worley names five favorites

Justin Worley (Rock Hill, S.C./Northwestern) revealed his top schools for ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com.

"Not in really specific order, I have a top five of Notre Dame, LSU, Tennessee, North Carolina and Florida State," Worley said.

Florida, Stanford, Arizona State, Kentucky and East Carolina have also offered the 6-foot-4, 195-pound prospect.

"Definitely a relationship with coaches, and academics are big," Worley said of what he's looking for in a school. "Having a family atmosphere, being able to communicate with the coaches and not worrying about liking a coach. The program's tradition and support and everything around it too."

He completed 403 of 585 attempts (68.9 percent) for 4,366 yards, 42 touchdowns and 15 interceptions last fall. As a sophomore, Worley completed 309 of 543 attempts (59.9 percent) for 3,641 yards, 50 touchdowns and interceptions.

I'm not so sure that's an endorsement of his Top 5 as much as the rationale why Steve Spurrier and home state South Carolina aren't on the list.

He's listed in Scout's early rankings as their #30 QB. Last year they had Andrew Hendrix ranked #29 in their final rankings. Worley best offers are ND, UF, FSU, UTN, and SU. Hendrix's best were ND, UF, MIA, OSU, and KSU.

I suspect Worley's ranking will climb during his senior season.

Although his offer sheet is impressive...there is a UT board who says that most of his major offers aren't commitable(not sure if this is true) and that ND,UNC,and FSU would only take him if they missed on their 1st options(B.Starling/M.Williams/J.Brissett).

They also say that he would commit on the spot if FSU really wanted him.

He and his parents are coming into South Bend Sunday night and leaving Wednesday morning. This will probably be Worley's last visit before he commits. His top four are essentially Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, and Notre Dame. He has visited the other three already.

He would like to make a decision before July. The only thing that worries me is that he does talk about that there are a lot of QBs on the depth chart potentially ahead of Justin at the moment.

We'll see. I would really like to get this guy. If he doesn't, I'm not sure I really like any of the other non-committed players. I think Justin is an outstanding passer, though!

If playing time is a factor than going to Tennessee is the best option for playing time..

Perhaps on paper. UTN is unsettled for a starting QB but ND's starter has a career 30 minutes of PT and a rehabbed knee. Tyler Bray was ranked higher than any of ND's 3 new QBs and he had the benefit of playing Spring Ball in Knoxville. He's #2 on their Depth Chart and could beat out the JUCO transfer as a freshman.

ND's got a bunch of names at QB but Hendrix and Massa haven't taken a snap yet.

Tennessee has made Worley a priority.

This is that article Terry:

As we've told you, three-star QB Justin Worley of South Carolina is perhaps Notre Dame's best and last shot at a high-ceiling signal caller in the current recruiting cycle. Worley's father, Peyton, tells Steve Wiltfong of ESPN affiliate IrishSportsDaily.com that the family will be in South Bend for four days next week, arriving Sunday and leaving Wednesday.

The Worleys have already visited Justin's three other favorites -- LSU, Florida State and Tennessee -- and Peyton Worley said that his son is pretty much finished with the recruiting process. "He's not going to make any decisions before visiting Notre Dame," Peyton Worley said. "How soon he makes a decision, your guess is as good as mine, but he wants to get it behind him, so in July he can begin focusing on high school football and his senior year."

Peyton Worley also said that Irish offensive coordinator Charley Molnar said that the coaches would like to have a QB in the fold soon, so they can go into July knowing where they stand at the position." Peyton Worley added: "We're going up to Notre Dame with an open mind," which could either be taken as a suggestion that Justin could commit during the visit or that Justin is leaning another way but could be swayed from that position.

Regardless, Worley apparently could have a decision sometime next week, since July arrives on Thursday.
